I still regret a little bit reading the novels. When I just knew the manga, the choice was simple : Aqua was a retard, Darkness a "lol so horny xDDD" masochist, and Megumin was cute.
The choice was easy.

Tried it further, the English is horrible, the map have way too much details to them, and you're not really sure where to go because the instructions are really strange.

What I figured was that the game has a hidden dominance level which is requirement for several (Main) Events. So Check Out everyone and ask to spank them again for round two to raise it. Sometimes homes are unlocked randomly and you have to spank the female inhabitants to progress on a totally different Quest.
Also make sure to pick up every Boost Crystal that you find, you'll need them on several (3iirc) Points in the Main Quest. I was never short on those but some are only triggered when you interact with certain objects

I found out that you may not need to use your spiritual crystals to improve your spanking level. I managed to spank the potion-maker, the owner of the healer house, the woman in the garden, the inn owner and the landlord's servant (onr week-end) without a spiritual crystal.
