A lot more difficult and time consuming.

It's more about the characters/positions and what story you have to tell with them, which can be very erotic. But I can see why some don't like them.
Are they banned or just not liked?

But worthwhile on a grander scale
You only really need a year of steady practice and lurking on /ic/ to git gud. It's not easy but if you stick with it you'll be making your stories with quality art and not some shitty browser program. Hell, maybe you could set up a patreon, make a little cash from your hobby.

Still gotta have the equipment if you want to do quality work that isn't line-drawn and scanned. And I think 1 year is a big understatement depending on your own skill. But I agree. Kisekae threads just seemed like fun since they included everyone and allowed them to make their own stories without having to have all that time and commitment, which very few have.
