Yes, on it's face there is nothing wrong with it. I have no problem with a racially diverse fantasy setting. If used properly it can lead to great and interesting story telling.

The problem is that there was pressure put on the studio to add this character when the game is basically "Polish myths and legends come to life while getting laid with everything that has two (or more) legs". Foreigners from that far away were so rare that they barely entered the general Polish myths and legends that most people were familiar with. Sure there was the odd trader from far off lands people talked about, but that was more a rarity for the folk lore and myths that were told during that time.

It is not tonally inconcistent for this game have a setting with only Polish people. There is nothing wrong with adding foreigners to the game, but it was absolutely not neccesary to do or wrong to leave them out. It just isn't that kind of game and that's okay.
