Diane: You know, sometimes I feel like our marriage is a Magic Eye poster.
Mr. Peanutbutter: I love those things.
Diane: I know. And it's messy. And at first glance, it doesn't seem to make any sense. And it's hard to figure out! But sometimes if you squint at it just right, everything lines up and it's the most perfect, beautiful, amazing thing.
Mr. Peanutbutter: Yeah. I know what you mean.
Diane: But... (bursts into tears) I'm so tired of squinting.

>told his mom a nice lie instead of being a dick like he was going to

>>
>>95351351
Given that he had an opportunity for cathartic self-release in the way of telling his mother to fuck off when she recognized him at the end of the season and he didn't take it, instead choosing to give her comfort in her last days I'd say he has. Also accepting the job PC had for him, despite her saying "Listen, I fucked up and forged your signature," and not even hearing the pitch and having no idea what it was he'd be working on. Because BoJack realized that PC really HAS tried to do right by him in the past, and that for once he needs to be there for someone ELSE in their time of need.

I don't expect it to last forever, sometime next season Bea will die, or Diane and PB will divorce and it'll give BoJack the opportunity to do some really shitty shady shit with Diane or any number of other things which could knock BoJack off the wagon. But I do think that he's actually trying to make progress, and that Hollyhock really helped with that.
>>
>>95351433
I think next season Bojack's life will get fucked again, but it won't really be his fault.

I love this moment but I think the catalyst for it to happen was weak. Even in the next episode, bender!BoJack thinks he's talking to Todd and explains how Emily is grown woman who can make her own choices and how BoJack tried to help Todd get laid that night but didn't do it. So the writers are aware of this but still have Todd in the right for being mad about it. And since Emily was gone from this season I don't think it'll ever be resolved.

well, if you actually go to the CDC website, it says that some of the negative side effects for the MMR vax includes seizures.

there is a correlation between epilepsy and autism. maybe people shouldn't force medical decisions on people who might be genetically susceptible to the negative side effects. you don't have the right to force medical decisions on people

I want kids too, no mixed feelings on it, but I don't want to jump into that sorta thing without good money, a good home, and a good wife that can be a greater mother, while also adding on finding a gal that's willing to wait till marriage for sex and all that jazz. The problem is that I have none of these things, and will most likely be without one of the three unless I get a damn good position in life. Made worse when I want to do voice acting, which is the equivalent of doing odd jobs like mowing lawns for a living until I get recognized enough to have people come to me, and even then I still gotta do odd jobs.

I hope I can get that shit sorted out before it's "too late" in life to have kids or even find a wife. Fuck, I haven't even had a gf all through middle and high, and I'm still a gf-less goy even in collegg and I'm just about ready to leave the place. I don't really know how I'll even get started on that, which scares me.

Life story shitting aside, she does deserve someone and some kids. She needs some happiness in her life, but considering the show, I don't know if she'll ever get it.
>>
>>95349432
I really don't get why of all the possible lines in this show this particular one gets shared as often as it does. It's not even particularly insightful or potent in the context of their relationship, it's just straight forward exposition with a lazy play on words.
>>
What does Todd contribute to the show anymore?
What about Diane?
>>
>>95354985
Diane served as the vessel for the audience to learn who Bojack is in the first season. Common writing device. Todd was comic relief and gave Bojack someone to riff of of and demonstrate his personality more. They were both devices for Bojack. That's why they feel so useless now. They have served their literary purposes.

>>
I want to frack Diane.
>>
>>95354985
Todd? Not a lot beyond plot device and comedy, with a little bit of character development for the people around him more than for himself.

Diane? Her entire millennial character of being neither here nor there in terms of intelligence and wealth; everyone around her is distinctly better or worse off and she'll never be happy or satisfied. Also as a very necessary half of the Mr.PB relationship because his ignorance "balanced" with good natured character needs to be shown to be insufficient. Being a superficially nice guy, however genuinely nice, isn't enough to carry an actual interpersonal relationship either with a friend or a lover. It was also especially important this season because half his shtick was learning that his preposterous luck only gets him so far. She has to be problematic for him to learn that he can't coast through his life forever/for everything: he needs to learn to put in real thought and effort.

I was hating the Ruthie part because that felt like cheap fiction, to assure you everything would turn out fine eventually. About halfways through I started thinking it wasn't real or accurate, but couldn't figure out how it'd be explained away.
And then she says it's what she's thinking. And that made it work. And be sad.
>>
>>95353697
She already spent weeks hiding at Bojack's while being a complete disgusting slob.
It wouldn't be her first rodeo at the downward spiral station.
>>
>>95354600

More like when you're talking to a gal you really, really like and get a date with, but your friends try to talk you out of it by stating the things they find wrong with her, say from the clothing, the way she talks, carries herself, and from small talk they gleaned from others. You assume them to be false or over exaggerated, but as you continue dating her, their warnings ring more and more true, until you finally realize just how right they were. Then you have to decide to either go through with it and/or attempt fixing it and dealing with the pain that comes with it by contributing SO MUCH to try and help them, or leaving and dealing with the pain that comes from realizing that there was nothing you could really do.

I was in a similar situation to you, until one day I walked into class in my penultimate semester and a beautiful girl was talking about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and we discussed which parts were our favorites. She wasn't looking for a relationship but we became best friends, until two years later when I finally confessed my love for her and she confessed she felt the same. We've been together for almost two years and are planning a wedding next year. We're both virgins and we're waiting. The difference between us and you, though, is we're 100% deadset on never having kids and I'm getting a vasectomy next week actually.

The point is, she wound up being a person beyond my wildest dreams and I never expected to find her. The craziest thing is we actually lived only 2 blocks from each other our entire lives and never knew it until university. If I of all people can find someone like her, then surely you can too. Don't give up anon.

Fucking Christ. PC was made for suffering, wasn't she?
>>
>>95357082
If only there was a way for her to explain how she feels to someone who is older and more experienced, such as Bojack of PC. Oh wait she can talk to either of them as they're friends.

It was never stated who the father was for all 5. Mouse man is only the confirmed father of two.

Congratulations then, friend. Can't say I agree with something as permenant as complete sterilization, but if you're deadset on that decision, then best of luck to you then. I hope everything works out for you both, and thank you.

I've had three open heart surgeries to correct a congenital defect that's been passed through every generation of my family, on both sides even. On top of that I have a slew of other hereditary issues and fucked up genes I don't want to ever pass along. I had made up my mind when I was 12 because of everything I'd gone through. And she's extremely tokophobic to the point she actually gets sick around pregnant women. We've both been 100% sure about no biological kids of our own ever for like a decade before we even met. We're open to adoption, but only later in life when we've already been together for like a decade or so, are in a good financial position, etc. Even then it's more like a distant "maybe we'll consider it," but we're not opposed. Just no biological kids.

That fucking scene finally made me hate her. I was fine with her before, but jesus christ what a bitch.

I hope the next season at least elaborates on this more, maybe tries to make Diane more sympathetic. We got a fair amount of Mr. PB this season but it was still in relatively small doses. We need a "day in the life" episode where it's finally shown how grating his personality is to Diane.

>Bojack was genuinely jealous of Doll
>Doll has a similar coat color to Harper from his drug trip hallucination of what could have been
>Tried to get rid of it
>Harper shared her name with the location of the Sugarman summer home, Harper's Landing
>The summer home held the last of Bea's good memories but also the start of everything awful to come
>Tried to keep it close

I'm reading way too far into this but goddamn.

I'm sorry to hear about all that then, but I am glad to hear that you seem to have your future planned out. I pray that it'll be everything that you want it to be and whatever problems you've had before like the congenital defects disappear. God bless and Godspeed, Anon.

I think perhaps the major malfunction of Mr Peanutbutter is he just wants to be liked by everyone in the most shallow way, that it's easy to befriend him but impossible to actually love him.

It's playing on the rose-colored glasses saying both literally and metaphorically. Since the glasses are "rose-colored", which is a similar color to red, she couldn't see that the flags were red. They just looked like flags because everything is red-tinted. Which ties into the metaphor of red flags being warning signs that something is bad, but she couldn't see it.

I couldn't tell if she meant she got pregnant five times, or if it was a full litter one time and she lost them all. I don't know how the humanoid animal pregnancy thing works in this show.
>>
>>95358422
Wasn't there a background joke about some animal mother having a fuckton of kids? Maybe it's like that.

AutismSpeaks is not a real autism advocacy group, they're just uneducated chucklefucks. Antivaxxers like yourself are retarded and should kill themselves.

>but seeing people have success at having babies fills me with this warm, pleased feeling.

I only get that for relatives. I'm an open hypocrite regarding baby noise though. My niece making noises is adorable, anyone elses kids making any noise at all, even basic speech pisses me off.
>>
>>95358562
Can't blame you. I'd adore my own kids and relatives, but hate other kids and do my best to hide that fact.

Maybe it's because I don't know them that well and I can't properly teach them shit if they fuck something up because they aren't related to me. Can't quite pin it down.

I blame the selfish gene.

Thanks Raphael. When do Bojack and PB hook up and tell Diane to take a hike while they drive past her laughing in the gayest colored Chevy Malibu convertible possible?
>>
>>95358840
Might as well blame everything on genes, right down to fetishes and preference of crayon colors.

>>95357073
So what you're saying is never marry a girl

As someone who suffers from depression episode 6 hit me way to fucking hard, to anyone young who has the nagging voice.

It never goes away you just have to try and ignore it the best you can, alcohol and drugs work but they aren't a smart long time solution you just have to try and take it one day at a time until you kill yourself or find someway to break the cycle.

I know I won't so best of luck to you
>>
>>95357531
That character is only good if they show them bottling up everything. We'd need to see Diane get more and more annoyed with PB but this doesn't happen because PB will only do one huge gesture per season and they often reconcile.
