Why does Garfield say that paradise would be downhill when it's clearly uphill? I don't get it
Does Jim Davis even write the strip anymore? He hasn't drawn it since the 80's, he'd just sketch a joke and his assistants would do the rest. But I have to wonder if he even puts that much effort into his strip anymore.
He's like the anti-Bill Watterson.

from what I heard, Jim stopped writing the strip over 2 decades ago.
because Garfield is a lethargic, hedonistic glutton, he sees putting in effort towards anything as a punishment. Paradise for him would involve putting the least amount of effort possible

This was 10 years ago, things might have changed but he still wrote them in 2006

The sign may say that Paradise is uphill, but Garfield's statement, "No Way", implies that he believes the sign is false.

but you can physically see the hill right there

Walking uphill is hard for fat people, paradise is a place where people live easy.

This is from the current year, he doesn't talk about the process of writing the strip but he's still involved with it all

But can you see Paradise?

can anybody?

Like me Garfield is intelligent, nihilistic, and with a wicked sense of humor.
