I really want him to be called Captain Marvel, but they won't because it would be difficult to market his action figures and toys as they can't use the name as an advertisement. Maybe they wizard can say something like "You are now earths mightiest mortal, my Captain Marvel" or something like that

The last material for the movie surprisingly was calling him Captain Marvel. I guess the final name choice will depend on the schedule. If they think it can come out before Marvel's they'll go with Captain Marvel, even in spite of being unable to use it in advertising.
