blue orb/invincibility should be able to protect against penance stare, so I don't see why not.

He has already felt worse than anything he inflicted on demons so penance stare probably would do shit

The entire forces of hell were only able to imprison him, he is literally unstoppable. Especially since when he dies he goes to hell so its effectively a respawn.
