>It's a "genius scientist seperates his good side from his evil side, but his genius evil side tries to destroy the whole world by turning it into an evil version of itself" episode
Is Rick and Morty just an edgy Jimmy Neutron?
>>95182761
Well no because Dexter also did this.
>>95182806
But that episode was released 15 years after it was made, it lost its chance
>>95182806
Evil dexter did not try to turn the world evil, tho.
>>95182761
What's the earliest version of good-and-bad-sides-become-separate-entities plot? There's gotta be something earlier than Negaduck, right?
>>95182761
I remember Disney Doug have a similar episode.
>>95183025
Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde.
Rick and Morty's take was at least unique in that it wasn't a good and evil split, it was a "Personalty Traits I like" and "Personality Traits I dislike" split.
>>95182761
>super genius scientist goes on wacky adventures
Yeah, actually.

Rick is literally a 60 year old Jimmy Neutron. Are you retarded or something?
>>95182761
I'll explain it with a simple analogy
Simpsons > Family Guy
Futurama > Rick 7 Morty
>It's a "genius scientist seperates his good side from his evil side
The rest is just window dressing.
I see you like rick and morty https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_JYkP6JotQ
>>95183777
I'll simplify it even more for the plebs out there.
My tastes > Your tastes
>Rick and Morty are together in the garage, Rick is planning out yet another wild adventure
>All of a sudden another identical Rick appears out of a wormhole and murders our Rick.
>Morty goes all Morty like "you killed my Rick! how could you?" blah blah blah
>Then the Rick who appeared there explains "THAT WASN'T YOUR RICK, MORTY! THAT WAS 'SEASON 3 RICK', I'M YOUR REAL RICK!
>goes on "COME ON, MORTY... 'PICKLE RICK?' ARE YOU FUCKING STUPID? DO YOU THINK I'D EVER TURN MYSELF INTO A FUCKING PICKLE? THIS SHOW HAS WENT DOWNHILL EVER SINCE I LET SEASON 3 RICK TAKE OVER, BUT NOW I'M BACKKK!!! *BELCH* SEASON 1 AND 2 RICK WOOOOOOOOOO!!!" *title opening sequence plays*
>>95183819
cringe
>>95183835
Nah, Family Guy is an edgier Simpsons while Rick & Morty is an edgier Futurama
>>95183836

>Is Rick and Morty just an edgy Jimmy Neutron?
The problem with that isJimmy Neutron was actually funny
>>95182761
Except that wasn't the case for either of those shows. In Jimmy, it was a rushed/poorly made clone that only had one aspect of his personality. In Rick and Morty, Rick didn't know that would happen or he wouldn't have done it willingly. Plus, Toxic Rick was more all of Rick's qualities he personally feels are negative and was mostly trying to get back at Rick, not so much the world.
>>95183025
Dude. That plot is literally older than writing.
>>95182938
he would eventually do it given the chance.
Literally came onto this board for the very first time with the sole intention of finding a post about Rick and Morty so I can comment on how shitty and overrated the piece of crap show is.
Fuck I wish people would stop talking about it.
Go on, attack me for having an unpopular opinion. I'm not even going to see any replies.
>>95184901
/co/ doesn't like this show. You're good.
>>95184901
>Literally going out of your way to get upset
It's not actually an unpopular opinion, anon.
And don't worry, i'm not (you)-ing you, post No. 95184901.
>>95183806
Although in the book, Dr. Jekyll actually only manages to separate his evil side. His "good" side is still just him as he was before; both good and evil.
>>95184901
Just get a trip if you are this desperate for attention
What would happen if Rick actually meet Jimmy? Would Rick hate him?
>>95185625
awww hell yea U know it DAWG
>>95183819
is that anna faris?
>>95183836
fuckin' ebin :))))
>>95183107
But Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde were the same guy with a different body. I mean it; Jekyll was in full control of Hyde's actions; he just wanted to be a bastard without consequences. That's why turning into Hyde permanently was such a big deal; Hyde was convicted for murder and if he couldn't turn back into Jekyll he'd be executed.
Quick question.
Rick and Morty's season 3 premiere was aired in lieu of an episode of Samurai Jack. In addition, many believe that the SJ episode directly after was bad and started the season's decline (I don't believe that, but some do).
You're not subconsciously blaming R&M for that, are you?
>>95183146
Is there a difference?
>>95183836
>Implying that's not just "Season 4" Rick, and Season 1-3 Rick comes back and murders him
>>95182761
R&M is mostly out of ideas and are trying to pick up kid show's tropes and make them mature but fails miserably.
