Barks wrote plenty of stories where Donald and the boys are completely whipped by Daisy, the Chickadees or another lady entirely, for humor's sake. The author himself bristled at the idea that his stories were loaded with agendas, commentary or allegory, and cut short interviews that insisted on going down that road. Don't be that guy.

Nolan's Batman was supposed to be "dark and gritty" with the characters themselves. I found most of them to be edgy. Miss old Joker, now everyone wants to make stupid edgy Joker who loooooooooooooooooooooooves Harley. It also sucks that Nolan's way of doing things infected everything and now everyone wants to try their hand at making it more "realistic"...
