Let me call the plot right now... starts at a low life bar, a bunch of goons playing cards and tells Joker stories (all different, but with the theme of 'I knew him before...'). Figure 3 stories, 4 tops... end of movie, Joker laughs from an unseen corner of the bar, then kills the storytellers before leaving the bar. Audience wondering who was telling the truth about Joker's origins.

Martin Scorsese is incredibly overrated. Goodfellas could've used more nuanced performances from as good a cast as it had. The Departed was really good but several scenes were painful ad-lib. Shutter Island did the ONE twist they should've avoided because the audience would expect it going into the movie.
Don't get me wrong he's okay but he's not even the best director DiCaprio has worked for.
