The Final Crisis president wasn't drawn to look like Obama. It wasn't until the Action one shot (and afterwards, in Multiplicity and Multiversity) that they made him look like Obama.

Grant reuses his own characters and his own stories over and over again. Sunshine Superman from Animal Man, Overman from 52, in Final Crisis (who was actually referenced in Animal Man) and used again for Multiversity and Mastermind.

You could say he was aware of Obama from the convention before, for Kerry's campaign against Bush, 4 years earlier, which is when people decided to get him to run to prevent Hillary from getting the nomination - that still doesn't change the fact that the idea of President Superman predates the election (or nomination and literal/physical campaign) of Obama.

If you guys want to pretend you know anything, you now how much lead time there is for something like Final Crisis, how long Morrison takes with his scripts, how long artists take to put things together and what that lead times for a series published between 2008 and the first month of 2009.
