How much improvement would there be as a whole if they picked another actor for Danny, fixed the choreography and had more continuous shots during the fight scenes? And didn't shove The Hand in there?
Honestly, it felt like the people who worked on it had the competence to make something that in other circumstances could have been at least okay to decent, but just didn't know what to do with the source material they were given. It also seems like it suffered from Netflix tying it together with the rest of the shows.

No dragon = it's shit
>not getting rid of Daneen
still shit

The showrunner admitted he never cared or knew about Iron Fist until he saw Daredevil season 1 and wanted to make something Marvel-related with the same level of gritty "realism" (all while completely misunderstanding why Daredevil worked at all). The guy was clearly not interested and it shows.

>completely misunderstanding why Daredevil worked at all
That sounds like good ol' Scottie. alright.
>mfw according to him season 6 of Dexter was supposed to have an earlier seasons' feel
>the entire season 8 was pretty much a giant season 1 reference except without anything that made season 1 good.
>how much improvement would there be as a whole if they made a completely different show
What kind of question is this?

Make Ward Meachum the actual main character and the show would have improved greatly. Tom Pelphrey fucking crushed that role.
>>95101089
The actor is the least of it's problems
hire a decent fight chorepgrpher who actually knows martial arts
include actual nonjas instead of evil businessmen and their hecnhmen
use the fucking costume
show the fucking KL city
show the fucking dragon
have the IF actually be powerful, not just a punch that kinda glows every 3 episodes
>>95101089
The easiest way to improve it would be to give him a fucking mask.
That way, stuntmen could swap in more easily and THEN we could have some real martial arts.

Buck was reluctant to take the gig, but Loeb talked him into it. They needed an EP, it was getting to the wire, and he was available.

Actor was fine
Choreography was shit
Writing and directing was shit
Hand was shit.
If they had gotten the guys from Into the Badlands and just delayed production so IF could actually train and just not forced in the Hand it would've been way better.
Also for Netflix as a whole changing the Hand from actual supernatural ninjas into generic was moronic and missed why the Hand have as little appeal as they do. DD S1 and S2 got it right. They just needed a better leader in S2 than fucking Nobu again. And no way was Gao planned to be Hand from the beginning. She was clearly Crane Mother and shoved into the Hand to tie IF closer to Defenders.

Seriously, Nobu should've been a grunt to be beaten up by leveled up DD in season 2 and answering to an actual leader of American Hand operations.
>b-but Defenders did that
a) too late and b) that jobbing fuck in gray suit was a joke.

This.
The only good fights in IF were Colleen's cage fights and that first fight Danny had in China with the drunk guy. The final boss fight was especially a let down.
Plus, it really annoyed me how much Jones looked like a DYEL. Especially next to Colter in the defenders.
