Why do cartoonists do this? Parents sure don't like this and the trope's been done to death. Is it that most writers are unable to make a likable or funny dad character without making them another Homer Simpson or peter griffin? Is there idea of a funny character a "LOL SO RANDOM AND FAT DUMMY" No sane woman who has respect for herself will stay with these man children.
