Is there any hero with a shittier roster of villains? It's like pitting The Penguin against Superman and expecting it to be compelling.

The rogues look stupid as fuck, but I thought some of them were actually really overpowered?

Turns out the only thing that makes Batman special is that he's a vigilante. Every other hyper-competent weirdo with a gimmick robs banks.

What I mean is that after a while, he doesn't even need the Weather Wand. He internalizes it - to the extent that his kid had the powers passed down genetically.

>>
>>95017721
It's just implied things that people that originally wrote comic books never thought of.
Weather control is basically controlling Earth's atmosphere. He could dissipate it and have the sun cook the entire surface, for example.
Just like people that come up with Flash being able to move fast never thought he could increase his mass with faster than light speed and deliver a punch so strong that could literally destroy the planet.

>>
>>95017455
They're actually really good villains. What i find especially interesting is that they've all become masters at fighting speedsters, and can actually give Flashes some trouble. They even have their own techniques for fighting them, like Cold has a different firemode for his gun that makes an invisible wall of absolute zero. It can't kill the flash, but it basically slows him down to normal speed. Mirror Master copies himself to take up Flash's time so he can get a shot in while Barry/Wally is destroying them, and apparently Heat Wave's fire is too hot for him to run through.
>>
>>95017455
Well, Flash are dumb dumbs who don't know how strong they can be and Rogues are crafty guys with creative uses of their power

>pitting The Penguin against Superman and expecting it to be compelling
Well, organized crime is not a problem that can be solved by brute force. Penguin can blackmail Lois or some shit
>>
>>95017455
>It's like pitting The Penguin against Superman and expecting it to be compelling.

If the Penguin was forced into a confrontation with Superman it would be compelling as shit because he's a total underdog. Of course the Penguin isn't good enough to hold his own, but look at the recent Deathstroke issue where he has to face down Clark. He can't take him head on so he just has to do wily ass guerrilla warfare shit like make distractions and run away.
>>
>>95018543
Or Penguin could pull a BvS Lex and keep setting up false flags to make Superman look bad while committing undetectable crimes that can't be linked back to him on the side.

This is not how Absolute Zero or "speed" works.

Might as well just admit that the rogues have "it's magic I don't have to explain shit" powers to combat Flash's "It's speedforce I don't have to explain shit" abilities.

It's akin to watching Popeye fight Bluto, except instead of Spinach it's "going even faster".

Flash (and his rogues) don't rule the DC Universe because they job furiously outside of their own book.

If Cyclops from the X-Men were to become a Flash rogue, he'd be able to fire optic blasts from ANYONE'S eyes, including everyone's simultaneously, even the Flash's (which would now have recoil for no raisin thus slowing him down) and he'd be immune to punches because of his constant exposure to the Punch Dimension's energies.

>No drugs
Respect is also a big thing with them, most of them don't even really hate flash that much. They once invited Wally and his wife to a dinner party

Having Superman go up against Penguin would be a great way to bring back some of those Bronze Age "Superman vs the corrupt rich guy. How does Superman outsmart the badguy and beat him without breaking the law" stories.

>>95017455
Because

1. Flash is a superhero and superheros don't punt their enemies heads off at mach 2 unless they're the Authority. He pulls his punches like everyone else.

2. Some of them are really, really fucking powerful.

Doctor Alchemy is molecule man. Abra Kadabra can do anything. Mirror Master can do anything so long as it involves mirrors. The Top is evil Professor X. Captain Cold projects a cold field from his gun that slows down molecular movement in his immediate vicinity.

The cold gun is generally pretty versatile (much more so in the comics than in the show), so different types aren't really needed. That being said, Len used an updated version of the cold gun in the most recent Rogue arc in the comics. It...didn't work out super well for him.

Flash doesn't create sonic booms when he moves, he's not moving through space, he's moving through the speedforce so any physics is not applied.
Same reason why when he runs, even subsonic, his mass doesn't increase enough that each step would leave fucking craters around.
>>
>>95020394
Central City is KC, Missouri where Keystone is KC, Kansas but Johns pretty much made Keystone into Detroit before it went to complete and utter shit. If I ever got the chance to write the Flash, one of the things I would do is add more Kansas City details into Central City like Central City is well known for their BBQ.
>>
>>95020455
Yes he does, because the Speed Force is effectively just rule of cool.

It makes everything work in the coolest possible way without breaking physics. Like how his mass does increase, but only for the infinite mass punch. I'm pretty sure the explanation is that he has some kind of 'safety field' from the speed force, so his mass only has positive side effects.

Flash was around street level until the late 90's when they decided to up the speed force bullshittery until he was a high level reality warper.

Isn't this true of most superpowered people too?

When you think about it, each superhero has at lest a dozen or more villains. That makes for one huge lopsided ratio of 12:1 superhumans being evil over good.

So in DC and Marvel, if you get superpowers or invents a really cool superpower imitating gadget, chances are you will be a dick about it and rob people. It's extremely rare to be cool about it and help people.
>>
>>95017455
That is generally why they take on Flash 5 to 1 most of the time.

They get shat upon when alone.
>>
>>95022981
>around street level until the late 90's.
Somebody hasn't read any Silver or Bronze Age Flash stories!
>>
>>95018234
Why?
>guy can create tornadoes
>decides to create one in your belly
it's pretty basic
>>
>>95018740
Nah, he would probably have some super special connection to the punch dimension and phase into and out of it in other random locations. He would be laser mirror master
>>

Name 12 unique Mr. Terrific villains. Or 12 unique Power Girl villains. Hell, name 12 current Green Arrow villains, and he's been around forever.

Only the really infamous heroes are arched by a whole stable of villains.

If anything it's part of why the Rogues are such interesting villains. They're bad guys, but they are the underdogs in this situation.

So his dippy Silver Age villain has been raised up to Odin-tier, and robs ATM's because there's just absolutely no way to legitimately monetize bringing beneficial weather to areas with shitty climates.

It was actually less stupid in the Silver Age.
>>
>>95023259
I can easily name 12 Darkhawk, Speedball, Ghost Rider, and Knight Thrasher villains anon. Even the D-league heroes have a shitload of villains

Just because you never read shit does not mean it does not exist.
>>
Why is Boomerbutt the best and the only one that can not only take the Flash 1-on-1 but kick his as so hard he cries to the Justice League for help?
>>
Rogues are OP as fuck, they have to be.
>>
>>95023313
Probably no less than guys like Vulture inventing pocket sized personal flight devices and only using it to rob banks.

Jackal completely perfected cloning and only uses it to be a creeper.

Mirror Master discovered pocket dimensions and has a hand portable device to enter and exit them freely.

Starman invented a pocket sized device that basically allows space flight, he would rather catch bank robbers.
>>
>>95017535

These. I get so fucking sick of this argument.

Superheroes have never been about two guys fighting to see who's stronger, they're about the heroes using their powers in clever ways to solve problems.

This is what animefags never seem to be able to understand, possibly because they think that comics are supposed to be the equivalent of Dragon Ball Z and its derivatives when those are stylistically more like kung-fu movies.

AFAIK the ACTUAL anime equivalents to comics are ones like Astro Boy.
>>
>>95023259
Good job picking two characters that have mostly been part of teams. For Green Arrow:

Shado
Merlyn
Clock king
Brick
Drakon
Komodo
Onomatopoeia
Count Vertigo
Cyrus Broderick
RZA with daddy issues
China White
>>
>>95023485
>Someone finally understands

I love you so much right now Anon.

Anime casuals will never understand that cape comics aren't kung fu films.
>>
>>95023533
You know he is only going to refute anything said as either "not relevant enough" or "has not been seen in a long time." Ignoring that either way, it still shows that a shitload more people in universe go bad when they get a nifty gadget or superpowers.
>>

Kansas anon here, been to Westport a handful of times and can confirm, it's pretty shitty. Too many drunk assholes wandering about, traffic is terrible, quality of drinks varies greatly and it's almost always overpriced.

I stick by the Crossroads area myself, less crazy shit going on plus you got First Friday's every month.

That would actually make it a combination Death Ray/Disintegration Beam.

Not a "slows down Flash, coats cops in ice" gun.
>>
>>95020921
>as in the temperature at which everything stops moving, even light.

Wait....how does light move through space?
>>
>>95017455
Well the only other enemies he really faces are ither speedsters and time manipulaters. How many times can he fave those before it gets old?
>>
>>95023964
Space is 2.7 degrees above zero, which doesn't slow down light in the slightest.

Remember, DC comics are written by grown men with a 5th grade background in Physics, read by individuals with a 3rd grade understanding at best.
>>
>>95017551
Top is fucking amazing I want to bang him
>>
>>95024274
Is being murdered by Golden Glider worth it though?
>>
Favourite Rogues?

Captain Cold
The Top
Weather Wizard
Mirror Master (Evan McCulloch)
Captain Boomerang (Digger Harkness)

James Jesse comes close to top 5. Piper too but he's more of a hero than Rogue.
>>
>>95024599
>Implying she wouldn't dominate you and Top at the same time
>>
>>95017455
>Is there any hero with a shittier roster of villains?
Spider-Man
>>
>>95024242
Some of the Silver Age writers actually had backgrounds in science but that didn't stop them from writing stories about fantastic characters and situations because you know, they weren't autistic.

Remember Ozamu Tezuka had a medical degree and wrote Black Jack and Astro Boy.

Don't confuse not being autistic for not being smart.

>>

This was such an amazing issue.
>>
>>95024669
She's pretty close as well. At least, her classic version and Rebirth version. Without the ice skates I see no point.

>>95024689
Fuck, you're right. I need to step up my game for best boy Roscoe.
>>
>>95024703
What issue is this and context? Also are Lisa and the Top still fugging? or is she with Mirror Master?
>>
>>95024845
She's with Mirror Master, they've been a thing since New 52. I don't think we've seen Roscoe since the reboot.

This is the issue where the Rogues throw a party and invite the Flash as a joke, but Wally and his girlfriend actually show up and have a pretty good time. It's a lot of fun, and has some neat character exploration.
>>
Weather Wizard is the most fuckable Rogue especially when he has the man cleavage costume
>>
>>95024894
I'm pretty sure Roscoe will be in the next Arc since it's gonna be the Rogues being a crime gang while in jail also what was the explanation why Leonard became a bad guy again? I mean I thought he had that bodyguard gig for Lex.
>>
>>95018450
I wish Kolins was on Flash again. Then again, seeing how Williamson doesn't do Rogues' much he'll just be wasted. I'd like to see him on Spider-Man.
>>
>>95024894
Also what issue? and by girlfriend do you mean Iris?
>>
>>95024897
Do you think the inevitable Twain quoting would be hot in bed, or kind of a mood killer?
>>
>>95024934
No, Iris is Wally's aunt. He eventually marries a woman named Linda Park, but this isn't her.

I believe that this is Flash volume 2 issue 19, so pretty soon after Wally becomes the Flash after Barry's death.
>>
>>95024897
I wish they kept the New 52 Costume, or at least toned down the fucking collar. I liked the sexiness.
>>
>>95024921
My guy, Kolins is my favorite Flash artist.
>>
>>95025009
I remember when in the Kingdom, Wally as the Flash was drawn and colored as Barry. Even that Earth wasn't exactly the same as post crisis. No Jordan or Kyle mentioned.
>>
>>95024948
hot at first
>>
>>95025041
Kolins is probably the most underrated comic book artist for me.
>>
I actually want a Rogues ongoing. I mean, obviously the more villainous Flash foes (Abra Kadabra, Grodd, any speedsters/Not-Flashes, and the like) would be out of the equation. But it would still be nice to see something like Rogues' Rebellion as a longer series.
>>
>>95017455
>Not one woman or non-white person in that image
I am so glad cape comics have evolved since then. Seriously, it's like a night and day difference.
>>
But can the Flash's rouges stop Superboy Prime? That is the real test.
>>
>>95026306
I don't know about Superboy Prime, but Pied Piper once single handedly blew up Apokalypse, an entire planet, by playing the anti-life equation as a Queen song.

When the Rogues get serious shit goes down.
>>
>>95019230
>>95019131
so it sounds like they're just playing "touch foosball" and they're not really "bad guys"
>>
>>95017721
Subtract "with a wand" and stop underestimating Storm and you've got a god, yeah.
>>
>>95026175
Rogues Rebellion made them too heroic... on top of being just plain mediocre.
>>
>>95026778
Dude stealing is still wrong. And they damage property too.
>>
>>95026878
So they damage property and then say "Sorry" at the end of each arc
>a building gets repaired
>they sound liek fucking Canadians each time
>>
>>95026970
Anon they only don't kill for business purposes, they have no problem brutally murdering someone if they need to
>>
>>95026300
>implying women and minorities are criminals
wow
WOW
I am LITERALLY shaking
>>
>>95026778
To be honest, they're not *that* bad. They're professional crooks. You've got guys like the Reverse Flashes, Grodd and to a certain extent Kadabra if you want le edgy psycho villain. The Flash is not Batman where everyone he fights is a psycho, nor should he be.
>>
I has a question: The Rogues ever fought the Titans?
>>
>>95017455
Her rogue gallery would be more entertaining if Accelerator was one of Flash's villains.
>>
>>95024654
Knowing about science makes it easier to write meme science because it gives you access to cool concepts that normies won't know about and lets you tweak them.
>>
>>95029233
I wonder how would the rogues do against Accel in a match?
>>
>>95026300
You can't tell me that The Top isn't black.
His name is Roscoe Dillon and he has waves and that's black as fuck.
