Are there any modern comics or trends that make it harder for you to stomach older material?

As I read through Cerebus I get flashbacks to awful furry webcomic authors like Jay Naylor and RH Jr, who have similarly smug and simple-minded fuzzy animal protagonists without the self-awareness or talent Sim had.

Reading Sandmam today reminds me a lot of the Hot Topic folks of the mid 2000s, but the comic obviously predates that by 15 years.
