Not every character is focused on development. Tolkien made Aragorn for example, without takinf character development in mind.

Tolkien thought that journey of the hero was too limitating, and couldnt properly discribe the amount of mythological narratives that exist. Because of that he wrotte Lotr with 2 archetypes in mind:

Pearl molested her when she was young. Does that count?

Yes. Don't you remember all that stuff about her getting Steven to understand her responsibilities and her worries and about getting Pearl to understand her sacrifices and her limitations? Don't you remember how in the original episodes she was some black-slick robo-nanny golem and now you can see her as a doting mother figure with measured responses, but has sore spots which can be poked. You can see that her stoic reaction to many things do speak of an indifference towards temporal things, even an indifference towards humans and earth as a whole, but this is counterbalanced by her deep sense of family. None of this was clear on episode 1. These aren't changes that she has undergone from an in-universe perspective, but they are developments in the narrative regarding her character.

"Character development" doesn't mean that you give characters weakness and then 11 minutes later they overcome them, it means that you watch/read something that tells you more about who they are and shows that they have more character dept . It's not the character that is doing the developing- not all characters are coming of age- it's the author who is doing the developing; fleshing them out as they stay fundamentally the same person they've always been.

She's showing her emotions more now and opening up and yes, that does sometimes mean that she appears to worry and freak out more often because she's stopped trying to be super stoic all the time for the sake of the team.

That's a really retarded argument anon, its not like they're living at a different time rate than everyone else and time just goes faster for them, they're experiencing time at the same rate as everyone else, one year isn't like 1 second to them, its like 1 year, they can get impatient and have a concept of being late or too early. What you're thinking is something like an Ent, the tree people in the lord of the ring movies, those fuckers are slow at everything becouse that's what they're accustumed to, don't know anything else and can't change their ways, they are also really old.
