A version of Born that takes place in the middle east makes a lot of sense. The inclusion of Rawlins leads me to believe they'll lead into The Man of Stone. I know everyone is hoping for The Slavers, me included. One story I always loved is The Widowmaker, but that's something I would want in the first season of a Punisher series.

They won't touch The Slavers, or at least they won't go all the way and do it justice. No way will they show Frank gunning down a group of black people and then throwing a defenseless woman against a window until she's battered and it finally breaks.

Punisher is a perfect fit for the Marvel Netflix format. My hope is that they have a couple one-off episodes, though. If the entire season is one big long arc like all the other shows, it has a lot more potential to be bad. A lot of unrelated punishings tied together by an overarching plot that stays in the background until the finale would be great.

Netflix doesn't water down a lot of their content as much as they could if they were an actual TV channel. They still do, but at the same time they show graphic violence from time to time. I mean, they're privately owned and have pretty much no obligation to censor things or beat around the bush like TV stations do since it's online.
That's a massive opportunity to churn out as much gritty, realistic, brutal content as you want and become something on the same tier as HBO and let's just fucking hope they take up that opportunity with Punisher.

More than anything I'd like to see them tone down the whole 'season arc' style. A lot of the series they've done shows for simply aren't compatible with the kind of heavily structured arc format they've used for all of them, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist in particular come to mind.

Punisher is at its best when it handles smaller stories, little arcs of 3 or 4 issues, sometimes loosely connected by a *very* nebulous background story that doesn't really take shape until later on, ala Punisher MAX. Punisher is perfect for a vignette style with 1-2 episode story arcs that are largely self-contained.

I've never been able to get behind the punisher. He is a true psychopath more so than your average vigilante. And he always acts as judge, jury, and above all executioner without giving anyone a chance. He always kills indiscriminately and regularly puts innocents at harm and hand waves it as collateral damage. It's a massive shit show and somehow you're meant to look up to him as admirable somehow because the mayhem of murder or destruction is for the sake of, or possibly even just revenge for, some innocent person who admittedly had horrific shit happen to them that they never deserved. But fuck, that doesn't improve the punisher as a character and it doesn't make him any better of a lead.

Wasn't what I expected from a Punisher series at all. Seems like the trailer descriptions we got a while back of him sniping sniping the Mexican cartel etc, generally killing criminals is going to be condensed down into the first episode or so. Also I thought Karen was going to be in it more, I thought imdb listed her as being in all 13 episodes.

Can Punisher carry a series? What made him good(for me) in Daredevil was he was contrasted against Matt who was a boy scout. Punisher might be too dark in this and I might find myself rooting against him.
