Retarded shipping aside, it's actually a pretty solid shonen anime. Action's flashy as fuck, villains are fun, and I liked some of the story arcs. The Mirai Dan Arc is still my favorite in the series. Really wished the show revisited it at some point in the series.

Another good show I'd recommend is X.J. Kyuu: Jūdai no Robotto. Even today, the animation looks awesome.

Personally, I feel the most terrifying part was when Plankton literally went inside Spongebob's brain and started controlling him to beat and nearly kill innocents just to get the Krusty Krab secret recipe. What makes this scene even worse is that Spongebob is aware the entire time, so we had to watch him scream and plead for whatever was happening to stop which caused the innocents he was beating to look on in both horror and confusion as tears fell down Spongebob's eyes. Plankton was decent in that arc, but he was at his best in the Krabby Fear arc. It really showed how good at psychological manipulation he really is. He nearly brought Spongebob to his knees, not with combat, but with lack of sleep.

This. I normally complain about arcs that drag on too long, but I actually enjoyed seeing Jack kill each of the sisters in each separate episode. By the third episode of the arc you'd think the formula was predictable. Jack hides, spies on one of the sisters and once he disovers her weakness he strikes her diwn. But no, they actually managed to put a twist to every episode that kept it unpredictable. Truly one of the best moments ever in anime.

Too bad the arc inside the monster didn't live up to the expectation. It was an odd transition from the initial darker tone all the way to the comedic tone. Not to mention all that fetish pandering. I couldn't even finish watching the episode where they escape the monster. I dropped the whole thing by then.

I don't regret it tho. Didn't they have a whole fucking episode where the Scotsman names every single one of her daughters? That's a whole new low level of filler right there.
