Short version is that it was an absolute shitshow, with the highlight being a /pol/yp driving a car into a crowd, killing one woman and injuring/critically injuring like 20 more. I think Trump's statement was correct in that there was violence occuring on both sides, but he was literally the worst person to be saying it and it coming out of his tweet actually devalued the statement.
