Al Ewing gets kinda meme'd on here on /co/ as a great writer

Al Ewing gets kinda meme'd on here on /co/ as a great writer when really he's just a good one who stands out amidst a crop of dogshit. But one thing that's really struck me is how he always, *always* leaves shit in the toolbox:

>I want to use Ares, but here's a bunch of other characters back too!
>How about a modern update of the New Universe characters I've introduced? Anyone want that?
>OK let's take the original Ultimate U Ultimates minus Captain America and they're a space-faring team hunting down The Maker.

What other current writer does this so much? I actually don't care too much about Ewing doing continuity stitching of like, Bendis' missteps or whatever but I love how he lays groundwork for future/other writers.
