Genndy's clone wars is overrated

It's good but a lot of the "characters" have none and are just used as action pieces

And it relies on the tactic of jut shoving as much on screen as possible to the point of me not being able to understand what is happening in some shots because there is so much going so fast

And you can tell a lot of the characters are just copy pasted in the crowd shots because they share the exact same position of a bunch of the other droids/clones

Luke Han and Leia story. Make it pretty important like Shadows of the Empire was. Kinda like a "lost episode" type deal.

Use the opritunity to streamline normalfags and casual fans into the extended canon. References to some of the novels/comics. Maybe even make someone like Sana or Aphra a major character.

It's not intended to be severely plot or character centric, and that's the strength of it. It gives stylistically interesting snapshots of the Clone Wars with a little bit of insight into things like Anakin's development.

I actually probably prefer Genndy Wars to TCW, if only because of how relatively conservative it is in terms of story.

And people say it's better than TCW.

TCW had even the clones have individual personalities and character, TCW didn't have so much going on at once so fast that you couldn't process it.

Clone Wars is pretty much just a big action scene, there is no thought or plot, it's just lasers and explosions the whole time

It's not genius (and I have never heard anyone but the infamous Shit Wars poster claim as such), but it is a work of art, insomuch that it is a Star Wars cartoon made in Genndy's unique style, which affords a different and aesthetically interesting view of the universe.

You must learn to separate the work from the opinions surrounding it. Even if it is not to your own tastes, which is perfectly fine, you should be able to see why others enjoy it.

For the record, I personally agree with the assessment that it goes overboard with the number of Starfighters and speeders on screen at times. It was something that stood out to me then, and it still sticks out like a sore thumb when I rewatch it. But it doesn't diminish the other great qualities of the series for me.

TCW was indeed a great example of this but Rebels is far to narrow a series to achieve this. It's greatest problem of cause is its lack of exposure, which is something I doubt Disney will ever let go of.

When you were a kid, I am sure you had no problem watching ANH when it showed up on tv, or when your parents brought home the VHS. Rebels is basically ANH in cartoon form too. Kids nowadays will have no problem watching the movies, or Rebels if they have DisneyXD.

And with Disney's Netflix competitor soon to launch, it's going to be more convenient than ever for any kid to watch Star Wars stuff. People keep suggesting that Disney's streaming service wont take off, but they forget just how fuckhuge the Disney library is, it's much more than just Mickey Mouse and Frozen. I am sure they'll be quick to remind everyone that their service will have all the Marvel/Star Was stuff on it, and hundreds of other classic movies.

So sure Rebels doesn't quite have the range that TCW did, but it likely soon will, and it doesn't change the fact that kids nowadays probably have more exposure and ease into the franchise than at any point in time in history.

I showed my cousin some clips on Youtube, and he was sold, started watching Rebels, watched Rogue One with me, I gave him a kiddy Star Wars infographic book. He has ADHD so it was a huge surprise when he came back a week later reciting facts to me.

If a kid thinks that laser swords and spaceships are cool, they'll likely give Star Wars a chance, even if it is more mature and slower than stuff they usually watch.

It is true to a certain extent that kids nowadays have weaker attention spans, but the worst thing you can do is cater to this by dumbing things down. Seen this happen countless times with cartoon reboots and videogames, where directors straight up admit that they're competing to maintain the attention that kids are giving their smartphones. But all this results in is mediocre content that less people will enjoy, and it's not going to hook kids for long anyways. Best thing you can do is keep making high quality stuff, and the kids will put their phones down if it is good enough.

Alright, I admit this was kind of sweet. It's so easy for jaded older fans to brush off what ROTS did, but I believe that Lucas very successfully portrayed the tragic downfall of a hero, and very masterfully handled the tone of the movie. The rise of Vader is a very dark and meaningful moment for fans, especially seeing the movie for the first time. Reminds me of when I was 10 and saw ROTS for the first time. This is unrelated, but back when American Idol had the season with Sanjaya Malakar, I heard that name (I didn't watch the show at the time) and my first instinct was to search it on Wookieepedia because I assumed it was a Star Wars name.

Its honestly infuriating that the game is so close to being perfect, but they drop the ball on this so hard.

It's obvious that they realized Rey was only going to be available on like two maps, so they backtracked and decided heroes shouldn't be limited by map/era.
