Looking back, isn't it stupid that this film is shown from the perspective of some guy named John?
He only exists as a character because the studio must've thought that having Hellboy as the actual protagonist would've been too weird for audiences back in 2004.
Who else has always been bothered by the inclusion of this forgettable dope? He's not even on the fucking poster.

Not that anon, but that's not the case at all; the relationship between Hellboy and Liz in the comics is one of big bro/lil sis (at least that's what I understood). They made them an actual couple in the movies because Hollywood needs shoehorned romance in all their productions.
