wtf? I thought John K was a hack?

He is. Those character designs are just awful. He's paying homage to some 60s cereal box style that always looked awful, except he exaggerates it to look worse. If ugly designs were inherently funny then A Wyatt Mann would be successful.
He must have been pandering with Rick And Morty. I can't imagine he likes such an ON MODEL show that totally rips off John's idea of having cartoons for an adult audience

i think John K really really likes flash. i mean i guess we all do, because you use less consumable items to draw and erase things, but i think it's something really special for him
What's up with that old man? He uses him all the time.

What's going on with Cans without Labels? He's still updating every few months and a new backer only update came out this month.

We've reached a level where digital animation can match traditional animation, but I don't know how much flash has been keeping up.

It's still drawn by hand, so there's not too much of a difference with digital animation.

Are there any "traditional era" animators who stubbornly refuse to adapt to digital animation, claiming the old pencil-and-paper animation is superior?

That Ping Pong anime is done in Flash. Hell, this was done in Flash while Flash was still the go-to program and not ToonBoom or TVPaint:

John K still seems to be using aggressive tweening and symbol tools that don't seem to mesh well with his traditional animation style, unlike say Felix Colgrave who knows how to use it for style purposes.

The only time his work has ever looked good since he's switched to a digital medium is in Close But No Cigar.

It's a real shame how far he has fallen.

And it's funny, his blog was SUPER relevant for awhile and was an often used source of education for a lot of aspiring artists, Rebecca Sugar included. I remember back during the Newgrounds days when his blog was fucking huge, he would get 100+ comments on average with his lectures. Now he's lucky to get like, five, and it all started to dip once people realized that he couldn't apply his own lessons to his work.

>wtf I [put shitty statement here] meme
Slit your own throat, please.

I actually kind of like george liquor's design when he's not tweened the fuck up and jittering around everywhere. He's got strangely big cute eyes but is really ugly, he reminds me of a bull dog. He's also got appealing stocky shapes. His kids are kind of lame stock john k characters though, not unappealing, just sort of boring.
