Everything wrong with Batman and Harley Quinn (2017)
1) The plot drives the characters instead of having the characters drive the plot. Harley doesn't want to join Batman. Then she joins Batman. Batman doesn't want to take Harley to confront Poison Ivy. Then he takes Harley to confront Poison Ivy. Poison Ivy doesn't want to listen to Harley. Then she listens to Harley. Jason Woodrue is indestructible. Then Harley finds a really simple way to kill him. All these twists would be fine if there was any emotional or intellectual build-up to all these changes, but they all happen "because" -- because the plot needs them to happen.
2) Meaningless fanservice. Lots of girls in skimpy superhero outfits, lots of namedropping, a big ol' cameo at the end. Even the characters say it's pointless.
3) Punching to save the world: if you have two terrorists who are about to kill the entire world population (and then some), you get a drone and drop MOAB on them. You shove a bunker-buster up their asses. You nuke 'em to dust. You don't send three martial artists to punch them in the face and hope the good guys overpower the bad guys. You don't send a dinky infantry company (or were those policemen?) that gets creamed in five minutes.
4) Bland animation. The BTAS intro is animated better than this. It's not like they didn't have the budget - some scenes are animated at a brisk 24fps ("on ones"), but there's no art, no acting, and no spirit behind the animation. Explosions don't have a punch, dance moves don't have a kick, talking doesn't have drama.
I wish Flick would draw more hardcore lesbian porn.

>Harley doesn't want to join Batman. Then she joins Batman. Batman doesn't want to take Harley to confront Poison Ivy. Then he takes Harley to confront Poison Ivy.
That's kind of the point. There's never an instance where Harley and Batman would team up unless they absolutely had no other choice.
>2) Meaningless fanservice
Kill yourself.

You don't have much self-perception do you?

>they absolutely had no other choice
Drop a fucking bomb on Poison Ivy's shack. Kill one innocent man, save the lives of billions (not to mention all the poor saps who died trying to do it Batman's way)
The thing is there are so many other choices it's just bullshit. "We have to put Batman and Harley together because that's the name of the movie"...

You do know there's a difference between a post on an anonymous imageboard and an animated film? One of these costs millions of dollars and has to have some structure in order to interest the viewer. The other just has to get a point across and maybe have a hook to draw the reader in.

So.. Harley/Ivy canon to the DCEU, Yes/No?

I still want DCAU Batman back, just crippled Barbs as Oracle, Cass as Batgirl, more Huntress and Spoiler.
