I dont think it is a coincidence Lorna is now a regular character in Blue and Blink will be a regular character in Cable from October on.
They are trying some kind of sinergy

I just want this show spawn a new X book called the Gifted because of the TV/movie synergy.

The premise is pretty good, hopefully they have a plan to keep the momentum up for however long it lasts.
