>Kick off reboot with a tracking shot of a non-anthropomorphic bird.
What did Ducktales mean by this?

Seagulls are sub-avian

Mine!
There's an anthropomorphic seagull in that opening segment too.
>Nonanthropomorphic birds exist in the Ducktales universe
This implies that a Ducktales duck could own a bird as a pet. I believe this is a moral and ethical crime.

I'm pretty sure there's an anthropomorphic dog walking a non-anthropomorphic dog in the Launchpad's Wild Ride bit

So like... Goofy and Pluto situation?
>>94684958
So basically owning a non-sentient version of your own species.
Would you own a non-sentient human as a pet?
>>94685042
Is it a direct reference to this? Are the writers/boarders self-aware enough to start with a Goofy-Pluto nod as a way of saying "just repeat to yourself 'it's just a show, I should really just relax'"?

apes exist

>Would you own a non-sentient human as a pet?
Anon have you ever had a child?
>>94685062
There are obvious physical differences too. Maybe it's like humans and apes, in that they both evolved from a common ancestor?
>>94685062
slavery was abolished long ago

This. They start us off first thing with a seagull that is clearly just a wild animal, and the sailors are shooing it away as such, even though one's a seagull. They're sort of winking at the audience that they understand the central conceit needed to make a world full of anthropomorphic animals work.
>>94684626
This just conjured the beautiful image of a bird centric alternate universe /pol/ bless you anon.
