Secret Empire is so bad it's selling 10K less units than the 3rd worst selling Marvel Event in the last 6 years.
I appreciate the update but

Feel kinda bad about SIXIS not gonna lie
Secret Empire #7 actually sold 81K units to Original Sin #7's 91K units
Worst selling event? Axis, which at #7, sold 70K units.

this chart might illustrate it better -- took out the #1s since they distort the bars.
I actually have the feeling that if Secret Wars had been on scheduled, it would, at the end of the day, sell better than AvX

AvX was at the height of moviefag madness, which is why it sold so well.
Aside from that and the other outlier, Secret Wars, Secret Empire looks like it's more or less selling as well as any other event. A couple thousand units is negligible and most likely represent the overall decline in Marvel sales this year, as opposed to customers being particularly disinterested in Secret Empire.
This graph seems to actually demonstrate that people mindlessly buy whatever event is going on, rather than deciding which ones actually interest them.

The chart would be better if half of them weren't blue

I can't imagine why he thought it was a good idea to say this.
