Being hired in comics aren't some high end of artistic ability, especially by fucking Marvel who generally hire cheapest artists possible - I mean, Rob Liefeld and Greg Land are considered some of the better/more popular Marvel artists out there. This is Marvel, where all Star Wars books are traced from movie stills, and every spaceship or a weapon is traced from 3D model.

In comparison, there is a ton of art careers that actually require you to be good at art. Being an animator, storyboarder, concept artist, videogame artist - 2D or 3D; being a comics artist isn't necessarily some high end of the spectrum of artistic ability, being a comic artist just means you can draw FAST and are preferably cheap.

Comic industry doesn't have any money because comics sell like 20 thousand copies a month. Videogames or movie tickets sell in millions. Do the math, it's obvious they are going to get better artists.

Okay, so, let's critique all those 'better' art, shall we?

Here is the page where the OP panel came from. Look at how bad it is. Does it really evoke feeling of a fun nap SUDDENLY interrupted by a mugging? Of course not.
Look at how busy and cramped third panel is - you don't want to make panel with this much text THIS small.
In general, smaller/narrow panels "feel" faster because they take shorter to read, and big/wider panels "feel" slower - because of that, panels featuring the nap on a tree 'feel' faster than the actual ensuing fight which 'feels' pretty slow, which is insane - fight should feel fast and dynamic and nap should be nice and relaxing.
Composition is completely nonexistent - there are many tricks that could be used to make the bad guys seem threatening, focal points are completely nonexistent, there is no use of negative space or framing or really anything, panels have no flow - normally you want artwork to lead reader's eyes through the page in a line, showing all the important stuff...
Look, I could go on.

Most are so turned off by the designs that some of the good aspects of the art get overlooked. I like the clear set ups and composition. It's action dense, with good posture and body language that is simultaneously natural and forceful ( i think a lot of that has to do with the way she draws shoulders.) While these qualities don't negate the off-putting design choices, they're underrated and underestimated by amateurs and non-artists. Your declaration is premature.

The point is that it's such a minor detail that even if this wasn't a deliberate choice on the artists part she could simply learn a different style very fast. Which makes all of the people defending it because she can draw fast wrong, changing consciously chosen style on a minor but important part of the drawing wouldn't make the draw time longer, it's shit because and only because the artist wants it to be and people keep encouraging it instead of telling her to change that one detail that would make the art acceptable.

In all honesty what "awkward pose"? The body isn't twisted in any particularly unnerving way, in fact it's very relaxed; which is why she should have the relaxed face given to her supposed better artist. The original's face doesn't fit the pose at all.

I agree with the coloring, but you seem to be going on a tangent about how the artist didn't fix shit when they clearly did. She probably has "antigravity boobs" because she's lying down and gravity is pulling downwards you fucking dolt. You'd have an argument if she was standing up, in fact even then this just goes to show how much the artist knows about anatomy and how much YOU don't. The breasts are being pulled up and aim upwards due to the relationship between the bicep and the breast/chest muscles. (I'm aware that breasts aren't in any way muscle, but they are connected to the body via the pectoral muscle which is DIRECTLY connected to the biceps/arm muscle.)

It's not great but it's better than what gets published nowadays.
your composition leaves something to be desired. your art isn't leading the readers eyes from one panel to the other. the decisions you're making as to which panels are the ones meant to catch the readers eyes first are questionable.
study the cinematography of good films. learn how to frame your action better.

Marvel style storytelling traditionally focuses on dynamic energy. lots of foreshortening and diagonal lines. you'll want to focus on those first before tackle the weak contrast of your dull muddy lifeless colors.

There's loads of potential. keep studying and practicing your craft or course, but you could definitely be getting paid for the work you're doing as is. but don't let these anons gas your head up just because they're mad at Marvel's editorial and hiring decisions. there's still loads of work to do.
