People want to watch media that relates to them so many Americans will be less interested in a piece of media that isn't set in America or stars an American character. EEnE has one particular episode where they take some cracks at Canadians, the one with the turkey basters they sell as "Canadian Squirt Guns". Their stand is even called Double D's imports, so they are explicitly not in Canada. It's also harmless though.
