Sssso there's no way they can actually fit in the original Barksian backstory of the character unless they make him like 150 years old, right?

he could have found the fountain of eternal youth while he was in his 70's, and using it ever since. Done.

No, Disney USA forbid using Reginella.
American audience cannot know there is a better girl for Donald than Daisy

you mean for Scrooge. Scrooge gets all the girls. A yandere and a tsundere.

who is the yandere?
Goldie is the tsundere, and Brigitta is 100% deredere for Scrooge(except when he makes her angry)

Also have a Dickie Duck

>>94603318
Amelia is basically Female Rockerduck as antagonist. Fierce antagonist with an underlying respect for each other.

Glomgold is the "Everything I almost became" reflection.

Grandpa Beagle is the "in the end, Family First" reflection(especially in Italian stories, where both Scrooge and Grandpa Beagle became much softer over the years).

Brigitta off course. Amelia is clearly tsundere for Scrooge, she wants Scrooge's Number 1 after all, if you know what I mean..

Is she from young donald comics right? Fuck I want to read disney coimcs but I'm 28 and I don't wanna buy Fucking Topolino.

Out-business, usually.

Nope, she's Goldie's granddaughter from old Topolino stories.

Who care? I own a comic books shop, the average age of comics buyers is 40.

If you really don't want to go to a newsstand and buy your copy, nor you want to tarnish your reputation by having it sent to you by mail(also: the mailman would probably read it all before putting it into your mailbox) then buy the digital subscription. It's quite cheap, relatively, and an effective way to keep you interests hidden by most.

>>94603623
in the Italian comics the official explanation the characters give is "it's a comic book".
The 4th Wall is... thin, at best, in Italian comics
>>
so why can;t writers just say fuck it and not address his age?
>>
>Nope, she's Goldie's granddaughter from old Topolino stories.

Well then I'm mistaking her with some other characters.

Wellll, they kind of made a point of underlining the influence of the classic Barks comics in the storylines, plus they claimed Rosa's Life and Times was like a mandatory read for the staff and whatnot.

But yeah, given the first episodes, my money is on the most simplistic "whatever lmao" route possible and simply not talking about Scrooge's age. It's simply cruel to deny modern writers their hilarious Twitter jokes anyway

People know Mickey because they read the comic.
The comics he's in.

Also, Scrooge goes to the Lucca ComiCon to discover WHY he's not the most liked character... by asking the Authors.

Oh, and that time Donald tried to defeat a all-eating monster by throwing it outside the panels of the comics.

And all those stories where they straight up talk to the readers.

I suspect the 4th Wall has been destroyed during WW2 and nobody ever bothered to build it up again.

Fair enough, but that was the original DuckTales, not the comics. A lot of the charm of Barks' best classic Scrooge stories was in the perfectly balanced ratio of actual real world groundwork/overlayed cartoon logic. Don Rosa's stuff (which is basically Barksian Porn) went a bit too far with the former some times, but it's still great.

The cartoon dumbed all that down a lot, and the reboot seems to be going the same route so far (which is fair, but makes all those claims about going-back-to-the-roots a bit phony)
>>
>>94604422
But how is Scrooge's background and history different?

>>94604029

To answer your question, Magica will probably not be an adventurer.
>>
>>94604667
Depending on the story, he might been born in Klondike by Paperon-Papà.

Or not and it's his classic Barks origin. Whatever the story believes is most interesting

>>94604694
>To answer your question, Magica will probably not be an adventurer.
She'll be an adventurer, always searching for new magics\trinkets to better steal Scrooge's dime.
>>
>>94604436
>(which is fair, but makes all those claims about going-back-to-the-roots a bit phony)
They've made it clear from the beginning that the new series was going to be a hybrid of the old cartoon and the comics in terms of tone.
>>
>>94604694
> Why do you want women to be lame, anon?

I don't; I want more than the same one over and over and over to exist.
>>
>>94604029
Every male character we've met so far has been an adventuring badass, too. Most characters are probably going to fit that description due to the nature of the show.

Scrooge is an adventuring badass.

Donald is a good-hearted bumbling sidekick. He's OK.
McQuack is -pick one- a Soos port or a literal retard.
Glomgold is a generic, borderline self-aware but low-key "dark reflection" villain.
Hack and Slash are muscle non-characters.
The triplets lose their original wunderkind concept in favor of three vanilla flavors of general mischievousness.

B-but Scrooge died at the age of a 100.
>>
>>94605426
no, it was just to get the money of the life insurance.
There was a clause where they don't pay if you pass 100, and when Scrooge made it at 20 he didn't think he's live THAT far, but there was always more money to make and he never had time to actually DIE
>>
>>94605426

>>
>>94605462
Cute, but not really in-character. I know they kind of changed the "I Made It Square" line in the reboot to mean he made it with no help, but it's actually supposed to mean he didn't cheat or steal.
>>
>>94605651
yeah, not in Italian books.
He cheated, stolen, tricked and everything, especially\at least after abandoning his family.

he still does, too.
>>
>>94604436
Isn't that the same comic where Scrooge hulks out and destroys and building or a large ship and then a large portion of a city because someone laughed at his mom dying? Still seems like a silly place to look for real world logic. Him being 150 and handwaving it as his love for adventure and wealth keeps him going sounds fine to me, comic or no. Look at how miserable he was at that shareholder meeting.
>>
>>94605651
In the first episode of the original cartoon he specifically says he didnt cheat or steal to make his money, as in its his because he earned it fair and square. Every penny.
>>
>>94605771
>shareholder meeting
Scrooge going incorporated, now THAT would be out of character. Those were just financial advisers or some shit I hope

Anyway, the key is in the balance; Scrooge is fucking superhuman most of the time (it's funny you mention the Dawson rampage scene -which is specifically and playfully lampshaded as a probable tall tale- instead of the fact that in every version he's capable of swimming in coins). The "realism" goes where it works best: in enhancing the scope and sense of place of the adventures.
>>
>>94605713
Look, Italyfag, we all appreciate the plethora of expanded universe your country has provided to the Ducks after the American comics industry turned their backs on it, but Duck Tales is NOT and WILL NOT follow that clusterfuck of a hundred different characterisations simply because it wouldn't make a set of consistent characters. They'll stick to the revised Barks/Rosa versions and that's the end of it. If you want a cartoon based on the Italy Ducks, pitch it to Disney and make it yourself.

>>
>>94603549
>Reginella
Thanks Anon. I kept remembering reading a story with her years ago but had no idea what she was called.
>>
>>94606625
I expect Gosalyn to be older in this one, so as a superhero sidekick she'll be a better fighter than Webby and not an awkward kid with no social skills. So Webby will either idolize Gos or hate her guts. Either way it'll give her something to aspire to
>>
>>94604029
I can half accept that complaint regarding Beakley and Webby, but I'll have no complaining that Scrooge's niece is an action badass. That's just to be expected considering her mother, anon.
>>
>>94606824

>>
do the episode came out or something ? i see a lot of duck tales recently

Episode 1 and 2, which for the pilot movie Woo-oo came out August 12. There's a bunch of Ducktales threads where you can find the MEGA-link to download the episode, or you can go watch it on Disney XD, or there's a torrent for it. And it's probably also been uploaded on Youtube with first reaction watch videos.
>>
>>94604029
Donald was part of it so it makes sense that she'd be as well. That's probably connected to The Spear event that likely happened about ten years ago.

I dunno. They could just be living in an alternative 1950s/'60s where smartphones were developed really early. Pretty much everything else looks like the '50s/'60s. And they are already in an alternate reality seeing as, y'know, the dominant species on the planet are ducks and dogs.
>>
>>94605134
>The triplets lose their original wunderkind concept in favor of three vanilla flavors of general mischievousness.
But they all, especially Dewey, explicitly want to go on adventures. If anything, it would be the originals who were three vanilla flavors of mischievousness
>>
>>94608004

That IS authentic Magica. Even in the 1960s she was digging through lost temples for magic spells to help herself or use on Scrooge.
