It's guaranteed a commercial success though. As for the film itself both the directors are shit so it'll be bad but unlike Snyder critics actually like Whedon and if he can shove enough quips into it perhaps it'll get a fresh tomato.

Shit, I just realize that by necessity of what they've set up in this movie, it will be about fighting an alien army that's coming through a portal. They're even setting up the mother boxes as a sort of Tesseract proxy in the story.

Reminder that the MCU Tesseract is nothing like the comics' Cosmic Cube. If anything, it's the Tesseract that's basically a hugely simplified Motherbox, what with opening portals and all.
