>"adult" cartoon
>the only things that make it "adult" are dirty jokes and explicit violence
"Adult" means the Male 18-35 demographic.
It's not a measure of maturity.
>>94585581
>adult cartoon tries to do something different.
>Nobody gives it a chance because is not anime.
>>94585581
Well duh. Don't act like you watch cartoons aimed at adults that don't feature that OP.
>>94585634
Alternatively
>they watch it
>then complain that it's pretentious because it doesn't have enough punching and the conflict isn't good vs evil
>also that the animation isn't Disney blockbuster tier
>>94585634
>>94585754
this is about camp camp isn't it
>adult cartoon
>keyframed vector animation with intentionally ugly style that's more graphic design than illustration
>>94585634
>average art
>boring plot
>shit dialogue with lame gags
>revered because it is anime
>>94585783
Not that I'm aware of, no. These dumb threads have been a staple of /co/ for years.
>>94585817
It's revered because is fucking good
>>94585783
Camp Camp is like the mentally retarded cousin of South Park.
>>94585859
but anon they have literally nothing in common, prove me wrong
Show/movie/game is adult because it shows breasts
>>94585852
Lol compared to what? Jojo overrated as fuck. It's the Donald Trump of anime.
Family Guy?
At least American Dad can be funny at times and has Francine.
>>94585581
"Adult" "Mature" and "For Grown-ups"
have different connotations. Have you been speaking English long?
>>94585903
What else do you want? shitty politics?
>>94585852
why is it good? explain to someone who's never watched it before why its good.
>>94585985
The first arc, flat out, isn't. There are some interesting fights and plays with powers, but the main staple of the series, "Stands", comes in part 3. Technically the parts have no direct relation to each other--that is to say, you don't need to have gone through one to enjoy another, though it will enhance the experience. Essentially, Jojo is a practice in getting better as time goes on, and it's fair to start on part 2 or 3 and skip 1 entirely, though you'd miss one of anime's Best Boys. The stories, the abilities, and the battles are fun--albeit cliche'd and overplayed until you hit part 4-onward. Hirohiro Araki only ever gets more creative, and it'll add some great stuff to your music playlist to boot. I'd give it a shot.
>>94585581
>"car"toon
>has nothing to do with cars, or automobiles of any kind
>>94585883
>Kids who act like adults
>Characters who are one-dimensional sterotypes
>overreliance on crass humor
>meta story-telling
The difference is South Park was actually written by two people with a modicum of genuine humor whereas Camp Camp is written by people who were raised on a lifetime of watching TV and depend on tropes as a crutch.
>>94585783
Just take for example the Castlevania Netflix cartoon. The only reason people is giving it a chance is because of the animesque art style. If it had another kind of art style it would have been ignored just like those indie animated movies and shorts that are produced every year.
When was the last time an Internet animation fan mentioned stuff like Waltz with Bashir, Princess (A Danish animated thriller from the year 2006) or The Plague Dogs among their favorites?
Most of the time, their answers are usually the same: anime, Disney or some Cartoon Netwrok/Disney XD show
>>94585581
Dirty jokes and explicit violence are for adults. What's the problem?
>>94586035
>>94586040
those are very generic descriptions that don't actually prove they have anything in common aside from some common concepts, and crass humor is basically NEVER used except for one episode
South Park didn't invent the concept of Kids acting like adults or of meta-storytelling
Is this one of those things where
Brits use "Adult" in the way the US uses "Mature" and vis-versa?
>>94585903
In America, yeah
In degenerate Europe, it's a-okay
>>94586122
Overdoing it
>>94586108
Also it's based on a vydia and it's about vampires and killing. Not exactly artsy like the movies you mentioned.
>>94586259
>Overdoing it
It really depends on the watcher, dont it?
>>94586158
>how are they similar? but these tonal and conceptual similarities don't count
>>94585581
What is mr. Pickles?
>>94586033
>it's fair to start on part 2 or 3 and skip 1
>>94585581
>complains there was no point in this being animated because it could have just been live-action
>watches anime
>>94585918
I know. It's amazing
>>94586108
some of us watched it because there's literally no good Vampire media
>>94586317
Fun fact. It actually does. Grow up and get tougher skin.
>>94585985
its bram stocker dracula with fist fights and sun power ups
>>94586376
No nigga he ain't. It's okay to look back on a guy's work and admit his early work wasn't great. It started a good foundation, but JoJo is a different beast today.
>>94585817
Is this a Diesel reference?
