In the end, I actually feel a lot more blame falls on Disney itself: they asked Hirsch for a certain type of show, he gave it to them, and then they didn't want it despite it being popular and successful.

Disney wasn't ready for the very thing is wanted, and ended up jerking Hirsch around and causing everyone, including themselves, great pain.

I sort of imagine they are working to amend their mistakes with Star Vs. The Forces of Evil.

A shame they could not have learned sooner, assuming they have at all.
