This has been pretty much known if you keep up with comics. Was surprised to see it at the top of my twitter today as a moment, though. Most people outside of the hobby are blaming it on Fant4stic being terrible, not Marvel pettiness

To be fair, Fant4stic along with the other ff films are part of the reason it was easy to pull the plug on the comics. The ff don't have much of a casual following. And it's that crowd that creates the most noise. It's why X-men despite selling no better than ff did when it got cancelled are still around. They still got that strong casual demo who'd burn Marvel into the ground if they dared cancel all the X-books.
