I don't want to read it. Don't care if it's good, there are other things I can read (and do).
>>94473644
>Phil Foglio
I only knew him by his fetish shit, and his Plastic Man which I enjoyed.
I read it for a bit. It was alright
>>94474058
people have had enough of steampunk and gaslamp fantsy i suppose
faster you slut
>>94473644
I have. It's...not very good. Not complete garbage, but not competent storytelling either.

I'd rate it as good, but I completely agree that it pads itself to hell and back, and when it doesn't it's because the plot has taken a left turn into some other horseshit that will inevitibly pad the plot out some more. (Compare the Castle arc versus the Paris arc.)

>Eisner and Hugo Award-winning webcomic
Wow, so it's certified as shit AND ass. Sweet!

I kept reading up to when she got on the Castle Wolfenbach Zeppelin. Then I remembered why I stopped around the start of the Heterodyne Castle Arc.
It's not bad, I like the idea's. The writing itself is somewhat tedious though and the art ranges from 'Ok' to "what the fuck is wrong with this person'
>>94473644
I did until some intermission shit and forgot to get back into it. Now I've lost my place and no webcomic has a good archive system that's easy to browse
I've kept up with it, the last part was good and actually moved the plot. Needed more of the Jagers though.
And to the people that dropped it, she's finally headed towards England.
I could never read it because of the art. The lumpy faces and misshaped bodies always distracted me too much.

Seriously the pacing is the comics biggest problem. It would be a much better comic if it didn't take literally years to cover the span of one fucking night.
I can tolerate it to an extent since it's supposed to be a complete clusterfuck with several different plans going off at once and a dozen players all trying to steer the resulting mess in conflicting directions. Some slow down is inevitable in order for the audience to actually understand whats going on. But the comic takes it way to far, to the point where a I will completely forget about characters that were introduced mere hours ago in-universe because it's been 5 years since I last saw them on page. It somehow manages to make it feel like nothing's happening despite like 3 different conflicts going on at any given moment in-comic.
That said it's a really interesting setting with some cool ideas and despite everything the story does have its moments, and when it's good it's good. It also has the Jaeger's, which are the best fucking thing in the comic hands down and were worth slogging through some of the ludicrously slow pacing, at least for me.

The folgio style is on the side of newspaper comic...
But it's charming enough to me.
Now, the fact that they've also drawn porn, with that style, bemuses me greatly.
>>94473644
I like Phil on general principal but wasn't immediately drawn into GG. Might give it another try after I get around to Buck Godot.
>>94473941
His Stanley and his Monster and Angel and Ape minis were pretty great too.
>>94473644
does the art look like op image now? because I would read the shit out of that
>>94473644
I'd probably read it if it looked like that and not this. >>94473744
Something about the art style is really off putting to me.
It seems interesting at first, but I quickly grew bored. Last thing I remember is that they all flied away from the blimp castle and I wanted to go back to reading it but never did.
>>94473644
I saw some cover art for it and it looked...bad
Is it good?
>>94473845
>Ike That
is that her name or something
>>94473644
Yeah, still do "read" it. By which I mean it's so slow I don't get much out of it if I don't read it in year-long chunks, so what I do is very occasionally binge.
Read like that I did still like it sometime last year.
>>94473644
I never did, literally only because the faces are so off-putting.
>>94473644
You know, I still read this comic regularly and I forgot about the cat character.
I read it every 6 months or so. Flows pretty well that way honestly.
I pity anyone who tries to read it page by page as it updates though
>>94481244
>>94479783
These guys get it.
>>94473644
did that shit won a Hugo Award? Really? Asimov must be rolling in his town made of pure anger.
>>94473644
It's alright, but it fucking takes FOREVER for anything to happen, and every other week is some new story thread that won't show up against for like five years real time.mark my words, muse of vengeance won't appear in comic again before 2020
>>94481456
It won three Hugo Awards and would have won every Hugo Award for graphic novels until the creators recused themselves from further participation.
>>94478317
Everyone looks like they're made of shiny half-melted plastic
>>94473644
SG won an Eisner. It means nothing now.
>>94473644
How did it win so many Hugos anyway? Does that guy have a lot of friends in the SF community or something?
>>94476618
Yeah same here, one of the few cases where the art turned me off so much I just had to drop it.
It honestly feels less like a style and more like artistic incompetence.
It's pretty good. The novels are better.
I miss when this guy drew magic cards
>>94482393
but why? are Hugo awards a meme like the Novel?
The first complete story arc is legitimately good. It all falls apart once the gypsy caravan gets shooed away.
>>94473644
In modern comics all girls are geniuses, so this title is redundant and thus insulting for insinuating that some girls are less than super-smart.
(No for real though she's a real QT and I like her cat.)
>>94473644
I'm disinclimed to read it because the faces are drawn so ugly.
>>94487336
His stuff can be pretty funny if you go for that sort of thing.
>>94473644
I used to, but eventually there where so many plot elements up in the air that I was just lost. I tried to re-read from the beginning but the length of it all put me off.
>>94473644
I never read it because I thought the art was ugly, like something from a low quality children's book. Is it worth reading despite the art?
It's better to read it in trades for the long pointless story arcs are far more tolerable.
I think anyone who complains about the art, especially on this board, is full of shit.
Castle Arc was hell though improves during the siege. Evil sentient train arc is pretty good, Paris was eh.
It's a pretty good comic with a good amount of depth, bad humor, and a fun setting that does steampunk in a way that isn't shit. I like it.
