Yeah. Clark and his friends were all in their freshman year in season 1, aside from Whitney who was a senior. Which is weird that he was dating Lana.

That's just how TV works. ESPECIALLY in the '00s and ESPECIALLY on the CW/WB

Problem with young actors is puberty. They can be clear face one week and next week they could have a major pimple break out. Also things like random growth spurts and voice changes.
I remember reading about all this in an article explaining why they need to replace the girl in the spy kids movie and such. Shooting something can take weeks or months so you need someone that isn't going to have any drastic image changes.

Oh all that sweet cringy nostalgia.
I actually liked the show in its initial seasons. For me it was the first show on television with actual superpowers and I loved the super-villain of the week gimmick. Also adding Superman's mythology to the Dawson's Creek formula created something pretty addictive.
But everything after season 4 was a disaster.

Season 9 was alright, and Season 10 had a horrible myth arc but was worth it for Lois and Clark.

God forbid teenage characters go through things teenagers do.

Its taboo to say, but Americans have such a sexual fascination with high school, yet refuse to acknowledge how childlike teenagers in high school are for mostof it. People tie t to their sexual awakenings and ongoing fetishes, but if you were to show just how young HSkids are they'd be disgusted. Making adult teenagers makes it palatable to people.

Episode by episode

>Justice League cold opening
>Sam Witwer making an awful Doomsday tolerable
>Ollie's origin isn't a clusterfuck
>gorgeous Maxima seduces all
>Lois being forced to confess her love for Clark under torture
I can't think of anything for Prey, but Sam Witwer is still great
>classic identity getting revealed fake out
>TRAPPED IN THE PHANTOM ZONE!
I got nothing for the next two episodes. They're Chloe and Doomsday centric
>THE LEGION OF SUPERHEROES
>Who shot John Jones?
>the beginning of the end of Lana Lang
>Amazing Toyman and the end of Lana Lang (this alone makes the season redeemable)
>Linda Lake being the biggest threat of the season
>Tessnanigans
>ANNATAZ
Another shitty Doomsday episode
>Lois Lane: Hero At Large
And then the last three episodes are Doomsday and the best character dies

I'll admit, the Doomsday plot really made the season drag, but after season seven it was a breath of fresh air. It also sets up the final two seasons which are some of the best

Their one big rule at the beginning of the show was "NO tights, NO flight". And I guess they wanted to stick to that rule for integrity or something, so even 10 years later when he's working with Lois at the Planet and going around in a red and blue suit with the S and he still can't fly? It doesn't really make sense, so let's just give him anxiety and fear of the "DARKNESS" within him or something.
>>
>>94433030
Point by Point

>Justice League cold opening
Why is this good?
>making an awful Doomsday tolerable
Nope, it was all for a terribly contrived love triangle subplot.
>THE LEGION OF SUPERHEROES
I forgot that they were even in the show. They made no impression whatsoever. Brainy had the better episode later.
>end of Lana Lang
She was still around.and part of a plot. That doesn't really mean much overall.
>>
>>94432955
In the early seasons, because they wanted it to be a pre-Superman show and typically flight is the moment of ascension (pun intended).

By the time they just embraced that they could move on and do Superman stuff it was probably budget.
>>
>>94433102
I liked League of Superheroes, I wish they'd had the budget to make better use of them and maybe given us a one-shot Green Lantern episode

I'll openly admit that I have an extremely soft spot for Witwer and will enjoy him in anything.

When did Lana show up after Toyman outside of Season 11? She and Clark couldn't be near each other after that due to the Kryptonite in her blood

It was one of the best episodes, yes.
In my opinion, the show had several very strong episodes. My personal favorite was the Blue Kryptonite episode in the 10th Season.
Insanely good Lois/Clark episode.

And I didn't mean Lana showed up again in the show, just that she's still around even if they're writing her off. I wouldn't give an episode points just for getting rid of character.

Yeah it's really more this.

A minor in California (and on any union show or movie) can only work I think it's 20 hours a week, maximum, and they're limited to that even when school is out, and they can't do it if they're not making their grades (which is why so many of them who don't burn out partying end up going to good colleges), and they have to have a whole other bank account that they can't access and their parents can't access and... the list of protections is pretty long.

But the way kids were treated without those protections is just appalling, so nobody really minds them, they just find ways around. For smaller budgets or longer projects, you just don't use kids, which is fine because there's always plenty of 18 year olds in LA looking to trade on being teenagers.

>Claire Danes

That's another good point. Under Californian law, a minor can dissolve a contract at any time without penalty, so they can just walk off set one day because, I don't know, some shitbag hit on them or they got asked to do the scene again for the fiftieth time or whatever, and that's it. No penalty possible. If an adult walks off set, you can bill them, refuse to pay them, sue them for all kinds of shit, even get them blacklisted with their union so they can't work union stages any more. If a kid does it, your project better be able to cope without them.

And to be honest, I don't think there's many people who disagree with that as a point either. Kids should be able to walk, especially if they're not happy on the production.

>The Niagara Falls Reporter (or "NFR") is a web-only weekly newspaper hosted in Niagara Falls, New York. It was founded on June 28, 2000 by journalist Mike Hudson. The paper is owned by Frank Parlato, who is the predominant author of all of the articles. The site is often cited as reporting untrue information, and having a homophobic slant.[1]

>In 2015, a federal grand jury charged Frank R. Parlato, Jr., 60, and Chitra Selvaraj, 41, on a 19-count indictment with a conspiracy to defraud the United States and certain members of the public, to obstruct the function of the Internal Revenue Service, wire fraud and wire fraud conspiracy, money laundering, and corrupt interference with the administration of the IRS laws. [3]. Later in 2017, the same court would rule against Parleto's claim that the FBI conjured evidence [4].

There's a scam, but its Parlato's.

His "source" is G. Steven Pigeon (who is a real person, despite the name). Mr Pigeon has been an extremely controversial figure for most of his career, and most recently, like his friend Parlato, has been looking into a lot of canteen food and getting daily exercise.

>On 30 June 2016, Pigeon was indicted on bribery, extortion, and 7 other charges. [8]

NXIVM is indeed a real company, and also probably a cult, but Parlato has conflated clients of the company with members of the cult.

There's a better write up here:

http://www.macleans.ca/economy/business/how-to-lose-100-million/

Which does name Kreuk and Mack, but also is at pains to point out they're being recruited in Vancouver for the company coaching program by "high rollers" who are on commission. Contrary to Parlato's claim, neither woman gave up her acting career for the cult - both continue to work, and indeed worked well after 2007 (when Parlato's investigation began) and 2010, when Macleans wrote their article (which you really have to hope they didn't source from Parlato).

Kryptonians back in their hayday were like an entire race of super powered Julius Caesar's. They beat the shit out of Chad, shit all over his frat, then wiped Stacy's nose in it for fun. They were beyond bullshit western 'alpha,' they were the real deal. As for Clark... He's just a awkward farm boy, rather sweet, who works as a reporter. Nice guy. Now if you wanna meet a douchebag dudebro, look at that punk ass Bruce Wayne.

Fucking Chad.

>Renner is just in a black t-shirt with thick leather bracelets like he stepped out of a Blink 182 video
Does he have a clause against old-timey costumes?
