I did this exercise once where I found a stream of the first Cars movie, put it in the background while drawing, and just pretended that everything happening was with human racers instead of anthro cars.

It was still pretty mediocre but it was a hell of a lot better than movie as it originally was. The only scene that really absolutely needed them to be cars was the tractor tipping scene.

In her more detailed pieces, you can identify Donald and Daisy by their lips being more detailed and pronounced, or "ducklike", while characters like Mickey and Minnie have rounder nosed with more pronounced shadows. She really does an amazing job of translating animal characteristic into human features.

I can't say I agree. It's a more detailed art style and so looks a little more impressive, but honestly it's kind of just a generic shounen protag in terms of design. The cartoon gloves and hair don't translate very well to that style, the aforementioned proportions make it seem like this guy might be 4ft tall max, and while the open chest hoodie is a fun way to show Sonics tan chest patch, open chests are enough of a design trope in anime that it just adds to that style. It seems like a lazy take on Sonic as a generic anime character.
So I over analyzed that art far beyond the point of reason but basically I prefer the original artists take.
