with how Boomerang is now I don't know WHY they don't just re-brand it into Adult Swim's own channel and make late night CN into I don't fully Toonami or just a slot from 11pm to 6am of all their old shit.

Do like a CN nostalgia to air where Adult Swim USED to air on the main CN channel.

Doesn't even have to be a "real" news site, just anywhere where people who would care can see this. There's just no way a schedule like this can be aired without repercussion.

what in the actual fuck is this? why are they shooting themselves in the foot with two shows and a movie?

Is there any logical reason why anybody would pitch their show to CN in the current age?

CN doesn't have the notoriety of quality cartoons anymore, they will literally never air your show and more importantly, good luck on getting it past 2 seasons. Good luck on anybody even remembering it's even around too. And if you work for another party like WB or something, you're even more fucked

But could they see these TTG saturated schedules coming?
>>
I don't know man. There was the argument made months ago that kids are in school and you can get away with playing Go so much because it draws more than any other show when it comes to overall numbers.

But it's well into summer now when kids are watching hours of TV, and while they're debuting OK KO and everything, having the entire rest of the channel be one show, even their most popular show, just doesn't seem like a good idea.

Is the strategy to get them to watch OK KO because it's literally the only thing that isn't Go? It's so weird.

Fuck everyone in this thread. If you understood the business aspect of this you'd understand that this is the only show kids are willing to watch nowadays. TV is also a dying medium and sometimes you gotta to what you gotta do to get decent viewership. As much as you faggots like those crying lesbian anime wannabe shows, they bring in poor ratings and are VERY expensive to produce. Teen Titans Go is a blessing in disguise and has helped CN through some tough times while bringing smiles across children all over the world. Go back to whining like a bunch if tumblrinas though, none of you would understand the complex reality of sustaining a network

Behold the biggest flaw in the focus grouping mindset: "If thing does well, clearly we need more of thing!" It's why so many shows have homogeneous casts of snarky wiseguys who do the same stuff every episode, because the elements that test the best are lathered all over every possible orifice without understanding WHY they work so well (In the case of snarking, it's the number of non-snarkers to bounce off of).

It's also why Cartoon Network seems obsessed with rebooting their old cartoons as trashy sitcoms.

TTG is their highest-rated show, so they air it as much as possible.

TTG's numbers have fallen in half because of this. Kids are talking more about Gravity Falls, a show that ENDED, and SU generates far more internet buzz.

CN spams TTG so damn much because their methodology regarding what's popular is deeply flawed.
>>
is 2007 CN better than 2017 CN?

This actually makes sense. People will casually watch TV in between playing video games or doing whatever social shit on their phones. If a new or good episode of their favorite show isn't showing, they won't keep it on to watch other programming.
Statistically, TTG is CN's most popular series. If they show nothing but TTG and show nothing but highly rated episodes, they have a chance at getting SOME viewership during the day.

That paints a pretty grim picture of the industry if these are the tactics they must use to remain on air.
>>
>>94300399
Could also apply to other shows, even if they're doing a marathon.

1. It's summer. Networks do shut like this all the time because kids are either outside, jerking off to porn, or playing videogames, not watching TV

In america, those with cable or satellite rarely watch live television, they watch their shows On Demand unless it's a live sport event

3. There's going to be a fucking TTGo special event soon so this is a lead up

You autistic idiots with your fantasies of CN dying because you hate Go are in for disappointment

Your autism doesn't change reality poorfag. Its summer, networks have these marathon lineups because kids are out of school and have better things to do

Also, if you actually had cable and weren't a poorfag who just watches stream rips, you'd know that most people just watch On Demand which allows you to watch what you want on your own time and without commercials in some cases as CN on demand usually doesn't include commercials. And finally there's the night begins to shine special event next week so it's no surprise they're airing a shit ton of Go

Well shit, when you put it like that it makes perfect sense. Still, I can't help but wonder how successful they'd be if they put variety back in their programming, if it would work out for the channel. Could it really just be that tv in the traditional sense is on the way out? Part of me wants that to be the case, but a smaller, more nostalgic part yearns for a return to the more competent scheduling of days past.

>spending money on cable television

>paying for a service where you are paying for a bunch of shit you will never watch

I mean you're right about kids having better things to do, but you cannot deny that CN's programming is outright retarded. A little variety would help captivate more viewers. TTGO literally all fucking day is horrible.
>>
>>94300801
Honestly, people just watch On Demand now. Why wait for an episode of a show you wat to watch when you can bring it up whenever you want and pause and rewind. Regular television is dead aside from sports. Streaming is the future
>>
>>94300801
Even then, it's just full of Gumball, TTGO, and Ben 10 with Mightysword, WBB, and Clarence getting 30 or a 2-hours air time.
>>
>>94300901
If you actually had cable, you'd rarely watch live television. Its all about On Demand, that's something here most of you don't understand
>>
>>94300801
>animated productions costing hundreds of thousands of dollars and require weeks of dedicated professional work to produce a single episode
>competing with the near zero costs and budgets of YouTube content creators and twitch streamers for viewership
>who can put out content much more frequently and the audience doesn't care about quality
>financially feasible
Television is definitely on its way out. That's why cable providers and ISPs are pushing so hard to get net neutrality killed. The content networks don't have the means to control the inevitable or logically diversify, so one must wonder what will become of CN in the coming days...
>>
I used to love CN for doing this especially for shows i couldn't watch because of school like dink the little dinosaur and denver the dinosaur 2 day marathon

>>
>>94298729
This is the only way they can make the most money, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it. Just because it's the most profitable business decision doesn't mean we have to like it retard. >implying implications
I used to pay $150/mo for "cable" and all I got from Comcast was a shitty DVR that didn't work half the time. The On Demand functions required me to pay even more - per episode even - on top of the bill. Why would I pay for that if I could just go online and buy a series I like for $12 from Google Play or Amazon's butthole and watch it in HD anytime, anywhere? At this point, there are so few shows worth watching that I'm saving well over $100/mo by not having cable television.
>>
>paying to watch movies, cartoons or series
>not just pirating or streaming them
for what purpose
>>
>>94301045
You don't seem to understand what the Net neutrality battle is about, fellow anon.
It falls down to this:
>your ISP will assign you a data cap, whether or not net neutrality happens
>WITHOUT Net neutrality...
>ISP can prioritize speeds for their own services and partner's services over competitors or non-affiliates
>ISP can discriminate, based on the traffic's origin, how your usage counts against your data cap
>ISP can even decide to have their and their partner's services NOT count against your data cap

If you don't see how this is a problem, you may well be autistic.
>>
>>94301045
>anti-net neutrality just to be contrarian and "well others have it shitty so why not us?"
>>
>>94299701
The important thing with Snyder was that while he brought a lot of shit to the network in his time, he still tried to do something new, and when it failed, he tried to rectify it as much as he could before he left. He KNEW that he had done wrong and tried to correct it. That alone puts him leagues above Miller.

The only time CN ever repeats episodes on the same day is around 7-7:30 PM EST and that's usually for new episodes. They don't do that will TTG reruns. Hell, the last one in that picture is by far the most false one because on April 1st they did this:

The one about RS dying did happen though, for sure. It's weird they changed The Lego Movie to Shrek at the last minute and had the Island Adventures play after the movies and right before the finale too, with a WBB episode taking the last slot of the night, promoted as a special but it was just 2 reruns at the same time

Kids that never watched a marathon before, in my subcontinent CN aired every Flintstones episode for a month and it was glorious.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=HZc4MpPWjc0
>>
>>94309002
A marathon isn't very special if you have them almost regularly for 3+ hours every day anon. Especially if it's a show that's outright terrible.

At least the Flinstones was mostly a kid-friendly honeymooners knock-off.
>>
So does anyone definitively know what the rationale is behind such scheduling decisions? I don't understand how it might be cheaper for them to rerun TTG as opposed to any other show they have, nor do I think advertisers would want a single show to be spammed regardless of ratings. Even Nick eventually alienated advertisers and cable companies with their Spongebob reruns, and had to focus on developing new hits.

Is there method to this madness, or pure incompetence?
>>
>>94309002
>every Flintstones episode for a month
that was an advertised event

with ttg it's just regular programming, and when they do promote a marathon it's 40% of what it normally airs like
>>
>>94309002
Nothing wrong with a marathon nigga, the problem falls when you have marathons for the exact same show on every opportunity you have, and especially marathons of a show you air on a DAILY BASIS, OCCUPYING MORE THAN 50% OF THE TIMESLOTS.

Shit's fucking ridiculous, how can you not see?
>>
Its interesting that when youtubers like Vailskibum or The Roundtable mention the TV schedule it pops up here.

Remember the time /co/ kept spamming how perfect CN Asia's schedule was? A day later I saw Vail had a video on it before it was a thing here.

Aside from the fact that they're known to lurk /co/, this particular schedule's brought up a lot of ire in general.

What? Thought people were following that tumblr page that shows the schedules.
>>
>>94309002
That was to promote the film, it was a big event, and was back when their library didn't have as huge a variety as it does now.

It's worse now, if they did the exact same thing now (despite "hey, they're airing old shows on CN again!") it would be worse than it was then because they're still shitting on shows with new episodes needing to be aired and shit like that.

Back then it was a barbera network, it was to be expected, but now they have their own library and act like they never had it at all, plus this has been happening more than a year, AND back then that was every Flintstones episode (and the pilot that hadn't been seen before), but just this week there's half the series being reran a second time to even make it that far, its much much worse giving the changed times

why do you have episodes downloaded you fucking tripfag
>>
>>94295334
Don't you people get it?

The number one priority in Miller's head is to promote the online streaming platforms. TTGo is not being aired for its profitability, it's being aired because she wants you to turn off the television, grab your PED and pull up the streams. It's quite literally filler, shoving off other shows so you have an incentive to follow them onto online services that they can inundate with ads far more effectively.
>>
They're actually airing the anime teen titans.
>>
>>94310250
>CN/she realizes TTG is bad, and they spam it on TV to promote the online streaming platforms
That might not be so retarded if they didn't use TTG to promote that too and spam it on the device. They overloaded their servers when they tried to have every 100 episodes be on the app's server when they did that marathon some time back, and the app couldn't load until they cut it down to 15/20 episodes a day updating

I was always unironically thinking that the american version was the top tier one.
>>
This is why I hate cartoon network. They own the rights to so many good shows, some of which is still airing new episodes, and yet because of their inability to make a decent schedule these shows get fucked over in the end. Whether it's them rarely showing reruns of anything other than ttg, or airing the new episodes sporadically (like how they only air new Steven universes in chunks of five episodes before putting it on hold for months on end.) They have the rights to air all these great shows, be them the newer ones like the amazing world of gumball, or old classics like ed,edd, and eddy. I really don't understand why they do this. I wouldn't even understand it if it were a show I personally like.
>>
>>94311398
In Burgerland CN has made it so that their network only appeals to children in primary school. Their current dilemma is that they get the most profit by airing TTG all the majority of the time, because they decided to start pushing TTG. RS and AT stopped getting reruns in 2014, they started pushing your new favorite show and now their most popular shows get half the ratings they used to. I do feel that there is more possibilities, however, it could just be that TV is a dying media because cable companies are a bunch of greedy jews. Most would rather binge watch on the internet. The only ones that actually watch TV are children, and CN has to compete with Hulu and Youtube. CN has made themselves reliant on 7 year olds nevertheless
>>
>>94311807
>so many good shows, some of which is still airing new episodes

>muh 1 week bomb

>muh hiatus
like every other series on the damn planet aside from TTG? even TTG has breaks
>>
>>94311807
I hate CN because it seems as if one specific show gets a bomb and then fucks off for months. It's all of their shows. You never see all of their shows in a rich lineup airing new episodes on the same day. Kids don't have a designated day to look forward to new episodes anymore. You get a bomb of at most two shows one month. It completely ruins discussion for shows.
>>
>>94311007

Just 100% enthusiasm at first, then later we found out their plan of dumbing down the network to preschoolers and TTG was the first step, so far they haven't found the 2nd preschool demographic, they're still chancing Ben 10 right now, but before they tried Mighty Majiswords, Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs, new PPG, and We Bare Bears. We Bare Bears is the main one of those that's surviving, to an extent.

Future chances they're taking are Apple and Onion, which will be the preschool Regular Show, Summer Camp Island, which is completely Nick Jr tier, and UniKitty, a series based on the obnoxious wacky cat from the lego movie. There are a few more but there's not enough info about them to tell if they're targeting babies, but they probably are.

Seems to be a little known fact around here

The suits at Cartoon Network as well as their guys at Turner are all the trendy types who are all collectively telling each other that tv is completely dead (don't know how many times I have heard this repeated) and the CN and Boomerang Apps are the wave of the future. It is impossible to steer attention to the on air channel, and trying will just get you a lot of dirty looks from a group in their mid 40's and higher with a
>Yea okay grandpa
sentiment from all.

Right now everything is on the CN App and views are doing pretty great with numbers going up each month. Steven Universe, Adventure Time and especially We Bear Bears are going strong on the app so there is no real need to bother with them on the old dying on air service that no one in the office cares about. No one at Turner is really paying much attention either, they are fed the same lines that the app is the future, all kids watch the app and no one under 60 cares about tv. And this is double for any demographic under 35 which is firmly in the Cartoon Network viewership target.

So they are not really looking at the tv ratings at all outside of "Are they stable? Good! Back to the App!" and since the App is doing great they consider everything to be perfectly fine. And what is said around here is true, Teen Titans Go! does maintain a completely steady viewership and it keeps the advertisers happy to a degree that everyone can care about at least.

So blame numbers and statistics as usual, they tell the people upstairs that all children will watch streaming and never television. The suits think they are perfectly on top of the situation 110% with no flaws in their plan. And that complaints are nothing but a mix of the usual internet complainers that every decision will always attract, and older non-target demographic hangers on who also just plain "do not get it any longer"

So obviously TTG gets good rerun ratings. But why is this strategy of spamming a single show only happening now? What was the point of ever having a varied schedule 5-15 years ago when they could have just picked the highest rated show they had at the time and just air it 80% of the time like they are doing now?

The insistence on abandoning the old status quo and embracing the new trends before you know how to do them right, the focus on pandering to the lowest common denominator because you believe they're the only ones that you can make money off of anymore, the culture of putting down anyone who doesn't think your game plan is perfect...

on paper they are the single most successful creators of a show in cable animation history.

Their in just 3 years show took over an 80% lead in scheduling and much higher than that in viewership for the network.

Any suit that is looking to hire people that sees that and does not know shit about cartoons (which none of them do) will think that these guys are the golden goose their network is looking for.
>>
>>94332979
Yes yes we've heard this same thing already

But when it comes time for their show to air or whatever project they're making, if it fails, then that's that. If it succeeds, that's because the network is mindlessly spamming whatever it was, which throws out the "we think they're good" card. That logic just gets them in, it doesn't save their ass if their project fails
>>
>>94332979
This would be a wonderful set up for failure if they got picked up to do an entirely new show that ended up equally shitty but put into not quite as favorable conditions to become a hit and crashed and burned spectacularly as a result.

But I guess TTG would have to be canceled first or something and it's not like that's happening any time soon.
>>

Actually this could be perfect.

Warner invests in a Teen titans Go movie, and when it performs so horribly in theaters they will want to rebrand the series as poison and start dropping all things TTG. Then we never see Robin or Raven in the background of any large network mage, Cyborg is now considered an audience turnoff, songs about meatballs are strictly avoided by the channel.

Nothing buries a show like a terrible movie tie-in.

Can't wait to hear they edit out everyone dying, including pops, edit kicks/punches to slaps, and remove the funeral scene in the Regular Show finale. The movie is genuinely hard to watch the way they fucked it up. There's 3-4 versions of it there. You get anywhere between a few punches edited to slaps and the decapitation scene removed, to Rigby's letter scene being removed and it jumping from right before Ross held Mordecai at bomb point to Rigby running out of the school crying and Future Mordecai dying redubbed to "dude are we alive dude?" "no dude".

The finale is going to be a hot mess

>CN DOES care about shows besides Teen Titans Go, but they don't air them as much because they're serialised and would confuse new viewers.
>CN doesn't care about the TV channel anymore, only the app.

All three of the above statements have been posted on /co/ and stated as fact.

was he refuting that?

It sounds like they are promoting the shows heavily for the app and not nearly as much on the channel. It's not a matter of intentionally killing the network, they are just transitioning and downloads of the other series are still pretty steady.

Fox News tells me that all of you guys are suffering under an evil socialist gulag where the healthcare death panels assign a death date to each person then kill them for the good of the state. And everyone is required to be Muslim.

Are you trying to tell me that is not true?

UK edits Regular Show heavily, as does everywhere that isn't the US. Have you ever heard this before? Because you seem very out of the loop and shouldn't be speaking on things you're not aware of.

Any UK edits are the same exact edits given to the rest of the international market, except when in some places where an episode is banned like the above in Russia.

At first I was annoyed with their dumbass antics over there but I can't help but laugh that 2 different scenes don't work due to the change, the russian text being removed and nothing being added means there was no writing for Rigby to see, and the guy farting joke doesn't work when the passed out snoring sound plays ad nasuem when a guy with his eyes closed is on screen, muscle man would have no reason to say "that guy's not dead" when he's clearly snoring loud as shit.

Well
I guess they're right honestly but I miss TV

I hate being control of what I'm watching all the time, I'm too obsessive for that. I like being able to put the TV on and let it pick shows for me that I don't always have to pay full attention to

I'm not american but even if I was I think I'd only care about these schedules while waiting for new SU/AT eps. But still, on canadian CN at least I can occasionally spot some AT reruns which is always a nice treat while eating dinner in the living room

Rick and Morty's newest episode got 2.86 million viewers and CN struggles to even make 1 million lately, and CN and adult swim are both on the same fucking channel.

a few years ago, CN could easily make 2-3 million viewers on their most popular shows, but ever since the TTG spam, ratings keeps on dwindling.

Sometimes I wish we had animation news sites that actually gave a enough of a fuck about bad/assholish network practices to actually report on it. Cartoon Brew is staffed by like three people and the main guy is too busy bitching about animation in the West not being seen as SERIOUS BUSINESS, while ToonZone is too busy with putting as many basic news articles out there as possible to write any sort of opinion/investigative piece.

I would kill for a site that actually put the screws to these big networks for their shitty practices.

The UK edits CN because things shouldn't be to violent WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
(Most) east European countries edits out gay imagery because the bibble said don't or sattana will get ya.
Germany edits anything that goes against what ever merkel is raving on about, and god help you if you show any imagery from the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei road trip across Europe.
Cartoon Network (Nordic) is pretty alright (Tho, each country has about 5 voice actor in total so that get's degrading fast)
