Are there any Marval Characters that could stop the shapeshifting alien The Thing if it got to a populated city.
Could they figure out its there and stop it in time before it destroyed Earth and everything else?

Well then The Thing just wouldn't go near them.
I'm not asking if The Thing couldn't be killed by like the flaming torch.
