So why is this the one that got everybody's attention?
Because it wasn't based on the book, it was an almost shot for shit adaptation of Gene Wilder's movie.
And his interpretation of Wonka is for many the definitive version of the character, and the movie in general is one of the most beloved films in history.
Homages and parodies are one thing. Doing your own version of Wonka is fine as well. This was just blatant garbage.
But they did this to other movies before now right? Or was it literally only done to Wizard of Oz before this?
Because with the sheer amount of Wizard of Oz parodies I can see how that one could fly under the radar.
>Wilkinson literally just tweens back and fourth in this scene.
Holy shit how could people be so retarded?
It's obviously made after a bunch of suits got together, took stock of what IP they have because original ideas are for suckers and just put them together with a small budget hoping that brand recognition would be enough to get some cash, any cash.
It's like going back to the 80s standards of animation. Or even worse, 60s when there were shitty Tom & Jerry cartoons that are left forgotten
I didn't know you could reply to these.
I kinda think he might be lying to look less stupid though. If he'd really seen the whole movie he'd have known how stupid his initial comment would come off and would have accounted for that.
>that one scene when Violets eyes cross for absolutely no reason
From the depths of the archive
i need the original template for that image.
Saberspark is also an Internet Personality who's made talking about cartoons and comics his full time career.
Ever get the feeling you choose the wrong path split? Seems like a webcam and the right voice and shtick is all someone needs.
here's one without the white
this one isnt that bad,its actually quite good.
sure its the gene wilders movie in animated form but i still liked it.
mostly cause it felt like the animated movies from when i was a kid
Maybe I need to brush up on my cinema, but I can't think of a definitive film version, from MGM or otherwise, for any of those stories that compares with the popularity and iconic status of Wizard of Oz or Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory.
I'm watching it right now. I thought it was just stuff that appears for one frame and is really quick, but some of the faces they make are held for a few seconds and it's so fucking ridiculous looking
I get the feeling that either the animators didn't care at all or they knew how shitty the whole idea was from the start and decided "well fuck it, might as well have fun doing this".
The movie overall is boring as fuck, but every time those facial expressions appeared on screen made the hour and a half of suffering worth it.
Well played good sir.
The animation and character designs look horrible, this film leans so hard on the Gene Wilder movie that the former's producers may as well have tried to dig up Wilder's grave, and - above all else - the film has no reason to exist beyond "we need to do something with the Tom and Jerry characters". Even the Poochie of movies that is "The Emoji Movie" has more of a reason to exist than this sack of shit; at least "The Emoji Movie" can claim to be a (shallow and cynical and all-around worthless) statement on modern culture circa 2017.
The Tim Burton one is BETTER than the original, in just the way you're talking about. I guarantee you somebody did the CGI for the Tim Burton blueberry scene with his dick in his hand.
>mfw the more I think about it, the more I unironically want them to do a Tom and Jerry Gremlins crossover next
>tfw this thread reminds you that you watched the Tom and Jerry crossover movie with Johnny Quest
Guess it's better by principle of not being a shot for shot remake like the movie and the Wizard of Oz one but it was still pretty shit
Fun fact: there was a time before the Gremlins movie we got in which Disney was going to work with Roald Dahl (writer of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) to make a Gremlins movie.
>I kinda think he might be lying to look less stupid though.
Guaranteed it's just damage control. There is no B&W version of the film as it was filmed in Technicolor, not colorized.
This bitch flares up all my hatred i hate having to listen to her do her """"""child"""""""" voice that she has been doing for years, i wish she would just die already no more of that deafening voice that makes me want to shove rusty nails in my ears
how does she keep fucking getting hired
Friendo, there's a whole world of crossovers to find.
>Fun fact: there was a time before the Gremlins movie we got in which Disney was going to work with Roald Dahl (writer of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) to make a Gremlins movie.
And those aborted movie-Gremlins reappear in Disney's comic books to this day.
Is it wrong that I really like Slugworth's cover of I Want It Now? The rest of the movie is shit, but the crazy visuals are insane (intentionally this time) and I Want It Now surprisingly works well as a song about his (faked) Megalomania.
>Tom & Jerry & Blade Runner

Bonus points if you make him frown like in pic related.

I honestly never knew this existed until NC. Now that I see it, I can see why it got everyone's attention. There's fucking with people childhood (looking at you Ghostbusters) and then there's fucking with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We ALL grew up with it. I don't care how different we are. If you were a kid in late 70s/early 80's, you loved this movie.
Hell. This is hell. The original at least had reasonable adult who went "oh!" and "well this is improper" to lighten the blow. Tom is just a fucking cat, he's more scared than you are.
Watched the critic review, it didn't look that bad. That song in the tunnel had some cool artwork, Tom and Jerry were beating the shit out of each other, I could see this being a gateway into the Willy Wonka universe.
I was awaiting surgery as a kid and they rolled in a TV, and the only thing available on VHS was Tom & Jerry the movie. The scene where they started dancing and singing was the last thing I saw before they rolled me out. I was too young to make any witty retorts but somehow deep within, I knew that god was dead.
Not /co/ but easiest edit I could do.
Nigga they even parodied the Fast & Furious movies.
I liked this movie

There was also this
He's for sure bullshitting. There's no sepia version, there never was one. He thought it was a colorized movie that had an original black and white version, not knowing the Oz parts were aleays color. He clearly watched the first part of the movie without knowing the gimmick, somehow, and then posted his inane review.
Also Jon McClenahan worked on this movie's tunnel scene.
Doesn't mean he can't produce bad animation at times. That's true for most of the animators in this film.
Granted, most of it can also be pinned on Korean contractor Digital eMation, begging the question why them? Why not just save them for the Scooby-Doo movies?
Shelved because of this.
They might poke fun at it, if the SiIvaGunner channel is still running with new rips.
I thought Yearim did 90% this with the rest staying in the States, thanks for the heads up.
Sad that this is what the Duck Dodgers people have been relegated to working on
I think he means when he reviews dumb things and nothing else. As in very little-no skits, just cracking on bad movies like how he started.
This and his previous Hulk and Cats Don't Dance reviews have been great because of this
Gotta love how these 2 snaps show the sheer skill AND ineptitude of the animation and artists crew.
Theres simply no reason for these frames to exist.
Also we need templates of both.

Why was this necessary? I get it, it was a random scene from the movie but the kids you were aiming at with this movie wouldn't know or be aware of it. They thought they were being random by adding this scene from the movie because they (adults) remember it and thought it would be comical but it wasn't, it was pointless
I actually unironically love this animation/art style. Especially the style used in Slugworth's trippy song. If it were in something other than a Tom & Jerry cash-grab, I would love it even more.

This brought up that Telecom (TMS) did Aikatsu Stars episode 55 just to get the rights to Love Live due to both IPs being own by the same company (Bandai Namco) and that Telecom & Warner Bros have a rich history together as both companies have seen how huge SiIvaGunner is doing.
However with Animaniacs coming back and Lupin III Part V on the horizon (the later being done since December of last year) the DTV was shelved.
