He probably wanted more money and WB never ever ever gives in to raises for their Looney Tunes actors. That's why every character has 4 or 5 alternates at any given time. I think Bob Bergen's Porky is the only one with job security simply because Porky's voice is so hard to do.

He got blacklisted from doing LT voices for a big chunk of the 90s and early 00s because of his attitude. By the time he finally got to come back for The Looney Tunes Show, he'd lost his grip on the characters.
