I personally never liked either the elevated webbing or the basketball textures on the Raimi/Amazing suits, respectively.

MCU's spidey suit was perfect texture, even if the minor tacticool elements. Granted, the CGI could have been better, but the animated eyes were worth it and the webbing actually looked like what pre-Raimi Spiderman suits would have.

Because the artist isn't an idiot and realizes Spider-man's eyes need to show emotion.

In the movie they give an explanation for why the eyes can zoom in, because they also realize Spider-Man's eyes are better when they show emotion, it's the same fucking thing - it's done for visual appeal alone.

I know I'm going to get shit on for saying this but that's because the first 2 Raimi Spider-Man films were actual films with a competent and intelligent director. As much as I liked Spider-Man: Homecoming, it feels more like a product than anything. The cinemaphotography is bland, the music is forgettable, the action set pieces aren't very creative, and the director is a literally who. There's no way they were ever going to top the Raimi films. When people say "The Raimi films have heart", it isn't just some gay shit. Those films legitimately had charm to them. You'll never have extras who over act their 10-29 second scenes, memorable music, and interesting character drama in any of the new Spider-Man films because Sony and Marvel are too busy trying to make the easiest consumer friendly movie possible. Spider-Man has become a shadow of what it once used to be and maybe that's why he isn't the super seller he once was. I'll always love Spider-Man but these new movies will never top the first two for me.
People hate on the Raimi films that the most retarded shit ever

>Are you implying that Peter's an insanely awkward eight-year-old in the body of an adult?
No, but he doesn't exactly stay that way through the entire series, does he?

>Are you implying Otto is a romanticist who's being controlled by his tentacles?
No, he's bat shit crazy. But also a roamnticist, it's part of his tragic back story

>Are you implying Harry's a smooth chad?
Considering he was part of Flash's crew it was certainly implied. If it weren't for Peter constantly being around he'd probably make off with someone. Not that that matters, because he only gets with MJ in Raimi so he's not exactly a smooth chad there either, is he?

Now you mind showing me when Ned Leeds was obsessed with Legos and went to highschool with Peter? Or when Flash was so lanky? Or when Peter went to a private school? Or when Vulture got his tech from aliens?
>>
>>94033732
>No, but he doesn't exactly stay that way through the entire series, does he?

He kinda does. Throughout all the Raimi films, Peter never really acts like a "normal" adult. It feels like he suffers some sort of condition, like he's a high functioning autist or something.

He had an extremely simplistic thought process and worldview. He often seemed to have a hard time reading subtler emotional cues. His logic was often childish and extremely naive. He seemed to have a difficult to articulating his thoughts. His behavior in general was childishly naive, in a manner that would seem charming in someone younger, but strange at his age. Altogether, he seemed extremely sheltered, and his general comprehension of people, society and the world around him seemed immature. The people around him always seemed to talk to him as if he were a child as well.

I feel like the entire point of Peter's character since inception is that he's a kid who's down on his luck and the butt of the joke, the person who despite the circumstances plows through the hardships through his own willpower. And then in this movie he's a 12 year old relying on his boss to tell him WHEN to be Spiderman?
Has the bar been set this low for people to call this movie enjoyable? Peter's character was that of a hopeless fanboy who's completely inept at what he's meant to do, his highschool friends were all also really annoying and/or boring, and the entire fucking plot of the movie could have been avoided if Tony's agent friend stopped to listen what Peter was trying to say (which pisses me off the most, I hate this shit).
THAT SAID, I think Vulture was written interestingly (as innacurate as it was to the comics) and I loved the new Spider suit (probably my favorite live action iteration) - the Vulture outfit sucked ass though. Also I liked that they actually showed Spiderman interacting and helping the public.
Idk I felt the entire movie was a mess. Can someone explain what was so enjoyable about this movie? I'd really like to know.

>Ben looks directly at the camera
>"The niggers, the spics, the chinks...It's our responsibility to civilize them. And if we can't? Then they shall dangle from the elm tree. The Day of the Rope is near, Pete. We'll have every nigger in this country dead or in chains in 10 years, and may God have me shot in a carjacking this very night if I'm wrong. God bless the American Nazi Party."

I remember watching this scene in 2002 as a boy, it felt like Uncle Ben was talking right to me. Raimi was on another level with this film.
>>
>>94034661
It was a different time. Shit I remember that scene where Osbourne was talking to Pete and his son and showing obvious favoritism to Pete when he said:

>"You know Peter, there's a set of people in this world who will always want you to fail. They'll wait, and they'll watch, and at your weakest moment they'll hit you as hard as they can just for the pleasure of seeing you fall. Those people are called the Jews, Peter, and they're a thread to every American's way of life. At Oscorp we work every day to build a world without Jews, where men and women can be free of their social propaganda and usury. We could really use a bright kid like you Pete, think it over."

They always try to make things bigger with higher stakes in the following films. It's just that they keep fucking up. They tried to make Thor 2 bigger than Thor 1. They tried to make Avengers 2 bigger than Avengers 1. They tried to make Iron Man 2 bigger than Iron Man 1. The key fact here is that the sequels are always ATTEMPTS at bigger and better things.

They're just bad at it.
