If the show has been on for a while and she's single-handedly saving the day every episode of something sure, we'll have a problem. I hardly mind her actually being able to do something or her bodyguard grandma having trained to fight because that makes sense. But that hasn't happened yet.

Honestly Mabel would have been better if she used the grappling hook more then, what, twice in the whole show. Mabel should have also been excited about the mysteries and adventures. Maybe in a different way then Dipper, like being more excited about the action than the mystery. It was a big mistake to make her not care for the most part because it set her at odds with the audience.

I'd add Minima De Spell as an obvious fifth column to our intrepid heroes. Only Webby and the viewers would ever suspect her of being a villain right under Scrooge's beak as she's allround helpful and knowledgeable in magic. Not even being named 'De Spell' appears to raise any suspicion from the boys, the only magic she ever uses is a pure heart and a bright smile. She saves them from the embarassing traps only to lead them into the intricate ones.

Webby knows nobody would believe her even if she caught Minima red handed with the Lucky Dime. On top of that there'd be the boys versus girls conflict where she needs all the help she can get.

1980s kid here. It's not that she was girly, it was that she cranked it up to 11, being smarmy sweet, drippily mushy, and a load for other characters to bear.
She was basically a girly character written by a sexist. I didn't know a single girl who liked her!
