How did Wonder Woman become a massive success? I thought you said it'd flop
>>93953171
It's the first Wonder Woman movie. Spider-Man already had four(five now), Batman had eight, Wolverine had two (now three), Superman had eight.
People have been demanding a Wonder Woman movie FOREVER. Same goes for Deadpool (which is why Deadpool is the highest grossing Fox X-Men movie ever).
Wonder Woman is the most popular feminist character so everyone wanted to see her movie. And they hyped her up because no one wants her movie to fail (especially since Catwoman and Electra caused female-lead capes to be stop happening for awhile).

In all cases it looked like it was going to be a massive flop, even Reddit didn't like the trailers. It just happened to be much more safe when it came out.

>Terrible trailer, promoting, and an unappealing/untalented actress in the title role, Can you blame people for thinking it was gonna be bad?

>Wolverine had two (now three)

Diana is best girl. Her movie being a massive success is simply the correct sequence of events.
Though, to be frank, it helps that she's an unconventional cape character. I think history has proven well enough that superheroes are not as beloved a genre as others. WW has, especially in more recent years, been more about adventure and urban fantasy, rather than doing the superhero beat.
