In a world where Batman has gone too far, The Joker must save Gotham City.
He’s been called a maniac, a killer and the “Clown Prince of Crime” but “white knight”? Never. Until now…
Set in a world where the Joker is cured of his insanity and homicidal tendencies, The Joker, now known as “Jack,” sets about trying to right his wrongs. First he plans to reconcile with Harley Quinn, and then he’ll try to save the city from the one person who he thinks is truly Gotham City’s greatest villain: Batman!
Superstar writer and artist Sean Murphy (PUNK ROCK JESUS, THE WAKE) presents a seven-issue miniseries of a twisted Gotham City with a massive cast of heroes and villains that, at its heart, is a tragic story of a hero and a villain: Batman and The Joker. But which is the hero—and which the villain?

Cute for you to ignore that all those characters were sidelined by DC and think Jon is somehow unique from them with no evidence.

Damian always had the fact that Batkids come back (or just don't get erased) to save him. The only Superlist kid who has come back is Kara and that took decades.

>>93951192
Cute for you to ignore the context of each one. Chris wasn't his real son. Conner was a literal clone. Cir-El got erased in her first appearance you retard. Supergirl has always been around but Dido realized how retarded her backstory had become, and simplified it. Jon has the same advantage. He's Lois and Clark's son. Not his semi gay clone love child with Lex or Zod's kid that Clark adopted, his actual biological son. That makes him really simple for adaption. Besides Conner is probably coming back, so the Superkids are making a come back too.

But keep memeing that DC reboots every year like the Marvelcuck you are.

Chris was his adopted son; that's still family. Conner was treated more like a little bother but he still mattered. Cir-El was in a bunch of issues. "Supergirl" may have been around but Kara was not from 1986-2003 because they did not want her to exist anymore.

I imagine their next reboot they'll do it more like Crisis on Infinite Earth (you know actually plan it and shit) rather than Flashpoint which was originally meant to just be a fun Flash story/event. And to be fair if Flashpoint hadn't been what they used to reboot it probably would be considered a pretty good Flash story.

Obviously not since Chris is gone. Bruce has had a lot of what-if future kids but Damian is actually HERE in the current canon. That gives him staying power, and people fucking hated him at first. Jon on the other hand has had way more positive reception. He's more likely to stick around honestly.

>>

I seriously doubt they'll be rebooted any time soon. Comics don't actually matter for anything anymore. DC and Marvel exist to create characters and stories that WB and Disney can make movies/cartoons/toys with.

The new 52 was a directive from Diane Nelson. Because for the longest time Batkids were the only kids. Then Morrison gave Bruce an actual kid, but accidentally made him popular enough that they kept him around. Now they've done that with Jon. He's survived his first year and had multiple writers use him. That gives characters some staying power. If they survive their first year and star in their own title they usually stick around. Maybe Jon won't but it would take a full reboot at this point to get rid of him. And that's not happening, not for a while. So you're stuck with him for the next 5 years at least.

That's basically what I'm saying. But I don't think it wold take a full reboot. Plenty of ways to write a character out. I would hope they're not cheap enough to go the death route, but you can't trust modern writers either.

You mean like what Morrison tried with Damian? He was supposed to be dead permanently, but it was too late at that point. The longer a character is around the harder it is for them to stay dead. If Jon appears in cartoons or vidya or movies it's over, he'll stick around like Damian did.

If you're talking about the "erased from continuity" option they did that already too, with Superman Reborn.

I honestly don't see them getting rid of Jon and the marriage, and getting rid of one would mean the death of the other. Besides you don't even need to get rid of him to tell stories without him. Just ignore him like Snyder did with Damian.

>>93952443
Where did I say it wouldn't impact the status quo? That's the point, they'd get rid of him to change it. But you can easily write him out without killing him off. Hell they already set up that connection with Mxy when he was kidnapped. Maybe he willingly goes to apprentice or something and just doesn't come back. Doesn't have to be tragic. But there are plenty of ways to write something like that without hurting him. Maybe he'd come back, maybe he wouldn't. But you can get rid of him if you want without a reboot. It's safe to be ready for that because knowing DC they will do it.

Then your Batkid spiel is bullshit still, because Jason was dead for a damn long time in comics. Damian died and came back, that is the sort of thing you're likely to see if they give Jon a "death".

Nothing I've seen indicates they plan to kill Jon any time soon. Keep telling yourself that he'll be dead any day now, if it makes you feel better though.

Of course, this is comics. But permanent death isn't happening at this point. Why would it? Sales are good for Superman right now, the book focusing on Clark and Jon sells better than the book focused on just Clark. You'll probably see a Supersons animated movie or cartoon before you see Jon die or get erased.

>>93953153
With Batkids you have examples of those who never went away or who went away only temporarily when you knew they'd be back. You don't really have that with Superkids. The removals were intended to be permanent. But hell even Chris did escape his erasure at the end of Last Son for all the shit you're giving him. I didn't say they'd kill Jon any time soon, but they will get rid of him like they have done with ALL Superkids and you need to be ready for it. Pretending like he'll never go away is being delusional.

>>93953245
>You'll probably see a Supersons animated movie or cartoon before you see Jon die or get erased.

Simple: What evidence do you have that they WANT Jon dead? Or that they wouldn't immediately bring him back for sales if they somehow did kill him? Nobody stays dead forever unless your really low on the popularity and brand awareness scale. Jon is the son of Superman and Lois Lane, THE Love Interest. If New 52 Superman was still around maybe Jon could be erased as the son of an alternative Superman. But not anymore dude.

I never said they wouldn't bring him back, just that the track record is bad enough that you have to be ready for them to get rid of him eventually. He's not untouchable. I don't know if it would be soon (though as one person shitposted, the fact that every arc is about him being in danger could be foreshadowing I guess) but it will happen eventually.

>If New 52 Superman was still around maybe Jon could be erased as the son of an alternative Superman. But not anymore dude.

That actually doesn't work because new 52 Superman also had a son named Jon with new 52 Lois in at least one timeline. That's why the merge made sense, they would go down basically the same path eventually. Same family.

It's the Jon fans who first brought up Chris in this thread not me, but Chris also survived his first year.

Through all the LoSH continuity bullshit I think Mon-El has never really been erased like that. I guess there's been a couple of gaps here and there, like the end of Reboot LoSH through the beginning of Retroboot? But he was more or less always Clark's equal or more (being older than Clark when introduced). Closer to Jimmy in this kind of conversation than a Superkid.

That's right I forgot due to how terrible it was. They also did dumb shit like age him up and then deage him. All that shit did was make him convulted as hell. And then he got tied to a shitty event.

But he wasn't Clark's biological son.

>I fucking hope they don't do that shitty Supergirl romance.
They're straight up copying the TV show in the comics. If Kara doesn't fuck Mon she'll be fucking Lena.

They've had Kara/Brainy in some stuff recently like the Bugs Bunny crossover and in Sugar and Spike. Hopefully they just keep to that. The draw of the "bring classic shit back" has to help, right?

>she'll be fucking Lena.

Why the fuck would you choose Doomsday? Why not Lex, Brainiac, or Zod? Doomsday is fucking mindless.

>They've already kinda abandoned the shared universe thing with Gotham by Gaslight anyway.
Anon they've been doing 2 movies in the same universe and 1 movie outside since it's inception

I'm pretty sure Ellis thinks Gen13 is retarded and worthless, just like all the other Wildstorm stuff he didn't create

Quick rundown on this guy?

I was really enjoying giffen/dematties/kollins and now I'm worried, I know it wasn't selling great but I enjoyed where they were taking it. Relieve my fears /co/
