I don't understand how anyone can summon up the energy to dislike her - she wasn't in the movie long enough to dislike. She didn't do anything remotely important and had next to no dialogue - she was just there, making up the numbers of Peter's classmates.

If it hadn't been for the "My friends call me MJ" line - which came out of nowhere, and seemed to serve no purpose other than to make it obvious (as if it wasn't already) that she was a future love interest - I don't think anyone would've given the character a second thought.

While I hated MJ there were a few things I expected to hate but grew on me or just surprised me.

1. Ned. Turns out he was alright.
2. Flash. Hated him, until the monument incident and the "hold my trophy" climb the women moment. The the cutback to the part of him chanting Penis parker did get me to chuckle as cheap and shitty as it was. If this fucking mexipoo really means it when he says he wants to please people and hits a gym like a DCEU actor then he could do the "Spider-Man inspired me to not be the type of faggot that climbs over women to escape the elevator."
3. the moment you posted was pretty well done and actually seemed a bit more serious than I expected the movie to get. Didn't expect to see a high school boy crying for help with Disney doing things.
4. The scene with him eating the sandwich is just like that "today will be your lucky day" page of him eating the chinese food under the umbrella. Just, you know, this is the MCU so it's a sunny moment before the man who he was just bullshitting with gets his whole life ruined.
5. That fucking car scene was good. Keaton clearly came for the check but he did enough with that scene to make one of the better MCU villains.

I really didn't like Aunt May though. I thought that dinner scene was the worst of the movie. They kind of made her really professor trelawny-ish while trying to still keep up the "everyone wants to fuck May" idea. She was much hotter in Civil War so it made sense.
