Unicron would just burn a hole in Hellstar with his mega buster and then clamp on like a tick. Just... slowly eating him. Processing all that flesh into raw energon and shitting out minions that would swarm over the Hellstar like fire ants.

They wouldn't kill the Hellstar, though. No. They'd encase it with a lattice of factories and harvesters, enslaving it to a life of endless torture as huge swaths of space-meat are hewn off and allowed to heal and hewn off again. Eyes gouged out so that it can only go where its tormentors direct it. Teeth and tongue long ago stripped away for resources, fed a slurry of waste and refuse to stay alive. Mined and hollowed out and kept in exquisite pain to fuel the Chaos Bringer's eternal march of destruction.

To answer your question, friend Anon, no one wins. We all lose, fed to the war machine that is Unicron.

Popeye would have to fight it for about three minutes, then he'd punch the sky so hard it would wipe this guy out of existence.

The longer and funnier bit would then be Popeye having to put all the stars back in the right places.

Yes, Olive Oyl would make him re-arrange the universe so no sailors relying on the stars to navigate would get lost.

She's nice like that.

Depends on what universe we're talking about. Because someone like Rick could because in his own universe, he's essentially a Mary Sue with a good backstory. He can do anything and solve any problem except his own emotional distress. But then so could the Warner Brothers and Dot just by pulling a hole out of their pocket and sucking Hellstar into it. And Freakazoid. And possibly even Steven Universe.
>>
>>93911946
Steven by himself couldn't, but Homeworld probably could. The Cluster definitely could if allowed to form but that would kinda defeat the point.
>>
>>93911946
>someone like Rick could because in his own universe, he's essentially a Mary Sue with a good backstory. He can do anything and solve any problem except his own emotional distress.
there's been multiple occasions where Rick has failed to improve a situation and just went 'fuck it' and walked away, most prominent being when he cronenberg'd the earth.

and given the tone of his show I'd say that's the most likely outcome. he fails to stop Remina and just hops to a universe where Remina didn't come to Earth,

>>93911992
If we wanted a story that made sense we wouldn't read Junji Ito.
>>
>>93909111
The whole story was so dumb

>Scientist names his daughter after a planet he discovered
>For some reason this makes her famous
>Then when the planet turns out to be evil they assume killing her will make it go away

I mean I could see a few crazy people buying into this, and maybe even most people by the end out of desperation, but the way it was handled was completely terrible. Even before the whole plots kicks off everybody on the planet seems just incredibly dumb. Seriously, everybody in the world knew who this random girl is who happened to have the same name as a planet? And they all love her? What?

>>93911992
Junji Ito works can be really entertaining, but they tend to have the major weakness that every character always makes absolutely baffling decisions that sort of take away from the horror.

>>93912009
Oh his shorter works tend to have the same problems. Granted some of it is really good. The one short where there's the patient that has dreams that last years and eventually centuries was pretty terrifying to me. The doctor being suddenly evil at the end was kind of pointless though.
>>
>>93912042
You got that backwards, he named the planet after his daughter.
>>
>>93912054
Ah, you're right. Still doesn't make any sense why she became famous over it.
>>
>>93912054
Oh and she was already a famous idol.
>>
>>93912064
No, she becomes an idol afterwards by capitalizing on the fame she gets.
>>
>>93912079
If that's the case then yeah that makes no damn sense. Most people don't even know who Halley was.

Remilia is a threat to all of existence, so I don't think Alien X would have a hard time agreeing to erase it.
>>

And by the same token, the Sentry.

>>93909111

Unicron. But he wouldn't. Instead he'd be like "Hey, wanna go to my place?"

>>93909676

Oh yeah! And her daddy, too, of course.
>>
>>93909654

>Metal versus flesh

Unicron. But they might not fight at all, depending on what Remina's stance on the issue is. Unicron wants everything destroyed, and Remina is doing that already anyway. He can just devour her last.

We know nothing about her motivations. If Remina is simply a planet-sized predator (and a big planet it is...somewhere between Saturn and Neptune... Unicron, even at his largest depicted size, would be about a third of her diameter at the most) she might simply mindlessly attack.
Or try to mate with him.
>>
>>93909839

Shuma would not stop Remina.

Would a father stop his little girl from riding her bike?

"Look, daddy, look!"

>>93909876

Not a chance. Ego is about half the size of Earth, the most he could do is run away... and Mogo also has no defenses on this scale.

>>93911966

Well... the Cluster is bubbled now... so at one point, Steven is probably going to send it to the Temple... so it bursts out, ripping the Temple open, spilling thousands of bubbles out... but it gently floats up, away from the surface... and then it takes shape.

Gems control their own gravitonic attraction without thinking. So theoretically, Cluster-Gem could float weightlessly between Earth and the Moon like a Saturn-sized Giant Woman. In my dreams, she is completely without appearance modifiers.

Anyway, I do hope that's how it's going to go down eventually. I don't see how they're gonna be rid of the Cluster otherwise. We know bubbles can be sent to the Temple with almost no effort, so if all the Crystal Gems work together they might be able to do it... and just keel over from exhaustion.

***

I wonder if Homeworld would consider Remina a giant potential colony. I would not like to see what Gems would hatch from that though.

It was made pretty damn clear that Regina was HIGHLY intelligent and knew full-well what it was doing. It took obvious enjoyment and satisfaction from Earth's suffering before it devoured it. Remind was evil incarnate.

Where do you get this "suddenly evil" bit? He gave the other patient the "dream crystals" or whatever he isolated from the first patient because she was pathologically terrified of dying, and that way she'd get to experience an apparently infinite subjective life.

Yeah, but in order to do the scale of Remina (all the destruction and the planet itself), if you don't want it to look like a Sci Fi Original Movie, it has to have a significant budget. And when you need a budget, you need suits and executives, etc. And when you get those people involved, forget having a good movie.

Very few horror films have happy endings though
>>
>>93923487
On the contrary, we need Bollywood CGI for the flying across the world scene. Only India could provide the right mix of ridiculousness to make it work.
>>
>>93926452
As someone who watches a ton of horror films, you're just flat out wrong. Of course, "happy ending" for horror movies is relative, but you're gonna have stuff like 1 survivor, or the killer "dies" at the end, etc. What's most important in American horror, apart from jump scares, is leaving the possibility open for a sequel. Because no one is going to invest big money in a movie that can't have sequels. The ending of Hellstar makes a sequel kind of hard, unless they're just gonna land on the planet.

Let me rephrase, it won't have a "happy ending," but it won't have a "bad end."

Almost all Ito graphic novels are surreal Action / Adventure, not straight horror.

iirc the only straight up horror GN was Uzumaki and Gyo depending on who you ask, but there's a 90s one I couldn't find that could be horror too.

My personal favourite is Black Paradox

>>93912042
>>93925770
People tend to think Ito does exclusively horror way too much, he loves drawing weird things more than everything else, and theme wise he usually switches from horror to adventure and even comedy, everything drawn with in a very detailed horror inspired style

Mimi's Ghost stories, Ouichi and and some of the one shots are pretty great but not encessarily horror. The one where a part of japan suddenly loses all public space and nobody has nay privacy anymore is really fun.

A planet needs killing, you say?
>>
>>93928979

They originally sent the brother and his team out first to scope the surface. The family got a message from the brother saying that everything's A-OK so they all fly out to the planet too. Family quickly discovers the entire planet is inhospitable and dangerous so they go looking for their brother. They end up finding the first astronaut crew and the brother only to discover that Remina was controlling them. Or something to that effect.

I didn't call you a tool, but you are a tool, so yeah. I guess the circumstances do fit.
>>

I'm not sure if the planet was controlling them, but that has to be the case cuz there's no reason the brother would send a message saying "everything is okay" when it clearly looks like that and will fuck you up the moment you remove your helmet.

Maybe it was a bad translation, something like "the brother is still broadcasting a message, so it must be okay!" I have to read it again to see.

I suppose you're right. It's been a while since I've read it too. Although I got a feeling that I might be wrong on my interpretation.

The act of thinking you can settle on it is already stupid enough (but it's a hallmark of Ito to have lines of thought like that discussed by his characters.)
The place is moving faster than light and they know the light that is no longer shining means it devoured those sources. So let's go settle on it.
>>
>>93929336
To be fair, it was a desperation attempt. It's not like they could go live on the moon. It's just for some reason, they heard that the planet was hospitable (I'm still re-reading it, and the Dad character thinks it was gonna be Paradise for some reason).

The question is why did they think it was hospitable. Actually, isn't the big twist that the eldest son, who the dad thought was sending him the messages, didn't even go to the planet? Isn't he the guy with Remina at the end?
>>
>>93925790
Shattered Glass, a mirror universe where good character are evil and evil characters are good. Earlier in it, multiversal singularities like Primus are still whatever their normal alignment is, but then shit happens during the comic that gets rid of the concept in-universe and there's a good Unicron and an evil Primus and evil Primus fights a female good robot that's hiding under the Earth a la Transformers Prime's Unicron, then it ends.
>>
>>93929336

To be fair, even though Ito characters can be monumentally stupid I wouldn't expect any less in a real life situation. If Remina was here right now I'd expect rich asshole billionaires like Zuckerberg and Elon Musk launching themselves there in a fit of desperate survival. The only sane plan would've been to get everyone to fire off their nukes at the fucking thing and hope for the best.

>>
>>93929565
In re-reading the ending, he was Daisuke Mineshi. The spacesuit read Kaneishi, and they called him Daisuke. Is this even meant to be the same person?

In any event, I don't see him as the one who was broadcasting a "everythings okay, everything is a paradise" message. Especially since he was just a tentacle mosnter. Maybe it was the dad deluding himself into thinking it would be okay, and telling himself that "there's a message, it has to be okay! Not only that, it's gonna be filled with hot chicks and gravy!"

Otherwise it's kind of a big, gaping plothole.
>>
>>93912042
Though Ito doesn't actually fucking explain it or expand upon it once he makes the reveal, but there is the plot point that the young mustachio man who is the head of the heroine's fan club, is the guy underneath the KKK hood that runs the cult that demands the heroine and the father of the heroine killed to "appease" Remina and spare Earth.

Ito also implies the mustachio guy is some sort of cosmic horror being himself (while hooded, he briefly pulls his mask up to expose his mouth and a creepy long tongue comes out to lick the heroine, prior to him having the mask pulled off all the way.
>>
>>93929598

I suppose you're right. It'd just mostly end up being mass suicides, anarchy on the streets maybe the odd cult or two popping up before everything's destroyed. But C'mon, where's that fighting spirit that we humans always had? There'd have to be some kind of concentrated effort by the governments to launch some kinda attack or something. I always felt it was kinda weird how there was no military action in the comics or nothing. Guess everyone really was just sitting around with their thumbs up their ass.

It was actually a different person, and also he was killed and Remina was moving his spacesuit around with a tentacle. Which made them think the surface was survivable and better shto than just waiting for earth to be destroyed. I dunno if Remina actually tricked them on purpose though.

That's Thought Robot, you fucking mongoloid.
There is no conceivable way Remina would even begin to fathom how many ways he would just squash him like a bug.
>Remina is the size of a large planet
Thought Robot outsizes entire universes and stands equal in scale to the Orrery of Worlds.
>Remina can warp spacetime/reality and comes from a different dimension
Thought Robot was forged in the highest plane of existence in the DC Multiverse from the Overvoid, where the line between the abstract and concrete blurs into an invisible fog. Thought Robot can control and manipulate the plot itself, he's essentially walking talking plot armor.
Remina can warp reality? Cool. Thought Robot can warp the idea that he'd be able to even do that in the first place.
>Remina can eat entire star systems
Thought Robot fought an entity who was sucking the multiverse dry of conception.

All those little Shumas that get beaten from time to time aren't really him. They're tiny aspects of his being. Fighting them, as powerful as they are, is the equivalent to fighting his toenail.

The deal with Shuma Gorath is that it's very difficult for him to move from one dimension to another due to the scale of his power, like trying to squeeze a fucking walrus through a pet door for cats. But once he's in, that's it. You're fucked. There is no possible means of fighting him. So he sends itty-bitty teeny-tiny fragments of himself through the cracks in reality to clear the path.

Doc Strange smoked him. He had to pull off dangerous magic to do it but he pulled it off.

Crom spanked him. Twice.

The Cancerverse where he and his homeboys hung out got repelled.

His win/loss ratio is pretty bad senpai.

>They're just tiny aspects of him

Uh huh. Which ones were his avatars then? Where is your proof?

Because he's 0-2 against Crom and he's done nothing to rectify that.

Because the Eastern views of the world there is the physical and spiritual energies and through training you can strengthen them, and their is also a higher upper limit to spirit vs body, If you watch a lot of martial art shit from the east you get shit like "I trained for ten years so now I can destroy a boulder with a punch and shoot energy". So goku and crew toss out mega bombs but their fists on cause craters when they try really hard.

It's why, on average, in a western RPG a level 100 character with level 1 gear will get wiped by a level 1 character with level 100 gear, but a jrpg works the other way.

a fighter's strongest beam is way way way way stronger than their strongest punch because you can refine your ki to be more potent. when Raditz came to Earth, Goku's kamehameha was three times stronger than his actual body. When using Kaioken, his kamehameha is up to sixty times stronger. When super saiyan 1, around 150x. and this is all while his body keeps getting stronger too.

The whole point of Alien X is that it is powerful but also so god damn useless at the same time. Even with things the two face guys would logically agree on with Ben they do not seemingly out of spite. Also time move normally while the inner conflict is happening so even if you somehow get them to agree the world is already dead and it would be another fucking reboot.

You know the cancerverse itself counts as several feats right?
also Shuma literally empowered the ritual to kill death

ok, but that is kinda the whole onan shtick so no surprises then, and he still retained influence over earth, like using the planet as a prison for that spawn of his that was awakened by the x-men

that's a stupid bait if I ever seen one. Shuma and his three friends essentially fill the whole universes, btfo High Abstracts, kill Death itself, and at least once they killed, bring back and weaponize Galactus. And well, judging by Medusa's lines in "Thanos Imperative" the Galactus Engine may have not been their endgame minion. If you actually read the comics instead of being a Reddit-tier sperg, then you would know that what that guy said about Shuman was actually correct. EVERY manifestation of Shuman within the Marvel'so universe has been a localized avatar, a fragment of him. Shuman literally CAN'T exist within our reality under normal rules due to how much 'space' he takes up. That's why he needs to separate pieces of himself to prepare the way for his arrival. Not like it matters, since pic-related could probably solo most of the guys posted here with ease, including Remina.

Speaking of the Tyranids, they'd probably do pretty well against Remina.
They could certainly survive her surface (being the eternal little hellbastards that they are), so they'd simply need a big enough swarm to land on her that they could scatter and avoid being flattened by her tongue long enough to continue multiplying and devour her over time.
How big are the space swarms in canon anyway? If they're more than average-planet-sized, they'd have a good chance.

1. Shuma and other Elder beings arrive on Earth. A time traveling Dr. Strange shows up and cant' hurt him (he's trying to kill him before he kills the Ancient One). But Sise-Neg is also there and he beat him. Shuma is 0-1.

2. During the Hyborian age Shuma revives and Crom as a young God slaps his shit and locks him under an enchanted mountain Buddha and Monkey King style. He gets out but then Crom kicks his ass and kicks him back to his home dimension. Shuma is 0-3.

This has all been Shuma. Not "avatars" or whatever. Pure Shuma.

3. He spends time fighting the Vishanti off an on without either managing to destroy the other. He remains 0-3.

4. He starts to re-enter the world through the Ancient One and Strange is forced to kill him to prevent this. Not really a fight, so still 0-3.

5. Strange powers up and goes to Shuma's home dimension and kicks his ass. Shuma is 0-4. Again, this is Shuma, not his avatars.

6. But wait! He's actually reforming inside Stephens mind! Soon Stephen will BE Shuma Gorath! To stop this Strange kills himself. Again not a real victory. Still 0-4

7. Shuma should have been totally destroyed, but he's managed to put in several minor appearances where he's mostly jobbed to groups of heroes. Maybe these are the avatars everyone talks about?

Shuma sucks bro. He's a high-end cosmic but he's far from being the end-all-be-all of the Marvel universe.

Since I do not wish to get into a passing contest with you, I will just post this.
>His size seems to be related to his power, as he is truly gigantic in his home dimension. On Earth he has always appeared substantially smaller, though it is confirmed that only the smallest part of Shuma-Gorath's essence manifests on Earth when he is invoked, thus he has only been seen at full power within his home dimension.

>His skin is rubbery and armored, making him difficult to damage except by the most powerful magics. Though he often appears as a scaly being with six to eight tentacles and a great, central eye, during the Hyborean Age he was also seen to have numerous pincers, claws, and insectoid limbs, in addition to a large, fanged maw. Similarly, he has been depicted as either greenish or purple in color. It is stated by The Vision that Shuma-Gorath exists on many planes and thus his true form cannot be seen by humans. Presumably, he can alter the form people see him as to his will. According to Shuma-Gorath himself, he is nothing except his power and his form is merely a shell that contains it.

The being we call "Shuma-Gorath" is just the closest approximationot of the true form of the Lord Of Chaos that we can understand without going utterly insane. His true form has never been seen, and is primarily locked outside the main universe. You may not want to believe it, but it's true. Not like it matters any, since as I said before, pic-related could likely hand him, and nearly everyone else mentioned in this thread their asses on a silver platter.
>>
>>93945123
>Muh stronger in my home dimension

And Stephen fused with Arioch went there and kicked his ass.

You copy pasta from the marvel wikia is also pure speculation. It was clear from the stories that Shuma manifested in his totality at the dawn of time when Sise-Neg and Crom ran a train on him. He didn't even spawn in his "home dimension". He first spawned on Earth and had to be banished to his home dimension by Crom.
