I don't think the third season would have had the impact it did if it wasn't preceded by (essentially) 2 full seasons of formulaic parody of christian fundamentalism irreverently played for laughs.

Honestly, Star vs. the Forces of Evil. I really don't like the silly episodes, they're too childish and they don't make me laugh.

But the episodes where shit goes down are interesting and enjoyable.

I love the non lore episodes Adventure Time or Gravity Falls. Star Vs just has bad non lore episodes.
