Nick Fury wasn’t in The Incredible Hulk and Bruce has been on the run for 6-7 years, while his only contact back into civilization in all that time was absent of any word or visual implications of Nick Fury. In the beginning of The Avengers Romanoff (Black Widow) confronts Bruce about the Tesseract and Bruce replies immediately with “What does Fury want me to do, swallow it?" HOW THE FUCK DOES HE KNOW WHO NICK FURY, LET ALONE S.H.I.E.L.D IS? Or even how it relates to Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D.
Am I being retarded or do I have an argument?

SHIELD is a world organization and have employed some of the top scientists in the world. Pym himself was a member at some point, so it wouldn't be too far off that Banner, who is known for his work in bio chemistry and technology, would be recruited by SHIELD.

I would have to find screenshots since a lot of it is written on computer screens in Ross' mobile command vehicles or on newspaper clippings and such, but the mr. Blue/Mr. Green thing is a spoken line so actually paying even the slightest bit of attention to the third act should have clued you in.
