>>93854509
" I couldn't care less what you think" would be correct.
Nice to see wonderful editing skills at display.
>>93854542
people say that a lot it's really annoying to me....
>>93854542
You think this book would have made it to print had anyone edited it?
>>93854542
>Nice to see wonderful editing skills at display
It's not so much the lack of skilled editors at marble as the lack of editors AT ALL:
http://www.comicsbeat.com/marvel-layoffs-the-cheapskate-is-coming-from-inside-the-house-of-ideas/
>>93854571
The editors allowed this to happen. They don't care.
It was a fuck you to jemas anyways.
>>93854318
why, why would you do this anon
>>93854318
There is a really nicely executed and beautifully inked shot of Carol's tits in this comic- and that is the only good thing about this event.
>>93854415
>What the @#$% is goin' on?!
Years later, and I still have no clue. This event was so awful I don't think it can ever be surpassed.
>>93854618
who are THEY?
>>93854571
Cringe hammy rushed writing. And why does mageneto want to kill every fucking thing?
This is essentially a "what If" for Uncanny X-Men 150.
>that time Magneto moved into R'leyh and there were Krell machines in the basement.
I asked for this.
>>93854473
On this note, anyone got a fun drinking game for Ultimatum? I got a few beers and nothing to do tomorrow.
>>93854610
Here it is.
>>93854670
You can all go home now, we've turned the corner.
>>93854694

>>93854758
Meanwhile, Doom is already dead. and had goat feet.
It doesn't fucking matter.
>>93854694
Take a shot for every stupid character death.
On second thought, maybe not unless you want to fucking die.
>>93854802
All I can look at is Hella's crotch here.
>>93854794
Th art is the only good thing about this. That is the only reason why this book sold, oh, and edgelords who think shock value is relevant.

>>93854942
Hottt
>>93854887
>drink...
To be fair: unless you've got a fetish you probably NEED one after that ...
>>93854618
Don't get me wrong, Ultimatum is pretty bad, but there's some good stuff in it. This spread is awesome. Night is falling for the first time after the flood, everything but the helicopters and giant guys searching for survivors is eerily quiet, but at the same time you know there's thousands dying in those buildings - it's just a matter of finding them in time. And Spider-Man is alone, desperate, helping anyone he can get to. No support, with so many questions in his head, but at the same time he's going out in the flooded streets by himself. It's just a great scene imo
>>93854938
>started banging and somehow granted powers
Maybe Thor's spoodge grants powers like Peter's grantscancer?
>>93855018
That's an interesting pose.
I unironically like Ultimatum.
the marvel heroes trying to stop a catastrophe and characters staying dead actually has impact.
>>93855106
house cleaning
>>93854673
cause his kids got killed.
>>93854865
Goddammit
>implying Thanos won't cause ultimatum in Infinity War
Ultimate Comics were what got me into comics as a kid, and I tapped out at Ultimate Iron Man vs Hulk and surrounding regular series issues of Spidey-Ultimates-X Men-FF.
Apparently, I got out at the right time.

>>93854711
this page is great
>>93855245
Guess he should have tried to bargain.
Ultimatum story time is the best punishment. I wish we had a second Ultimatum. How do you think Moon Girl would bite the dust?
>>93855245
For some reason this is the only death that works out for me. Maybe 'cause it would be that frightening to be the best hope against the occult and realize you're.... nothing.
>>93855332
Malcolm in the middle
>>93855326
Nah. Moon Girl and America will be the one who will save the day in the end.
>>93855363
don't forget squirrel girl, she's unbeatable!
>>93854865
Here it is! The absolute rock bottom of Marvel comics.
>>93855261

I know. Ok, well aside from anyone who is a white male, who would die in a new Ultimatum?
>>93855513
Thats a little too much standing around in a fight for my taste.
>>93855527
All the cis white males.
>>93854655
In the Ultimate Universe the U.S. Government used Pym's growth formula to create several Giant-Men. Similarly, Stark give them several outdated armor schematics they used to make the Rocketmen.
>>93855568
Even then, I'd still read it as long as it's stupid violent like this to the point of laughability.
>>93855593
thank you
>>93855143

>it's time to save the world

Geez, Ultimatum pretty much burnt the Ultimate X-men to the ground, didn't it?
>>93855665
And now Marvel is trying to do the same to main X-men. It's a funny old world, isn't it?
>>93855633
Man, I thought I couldn't get any more disappointed in this comic.
>>93855665
Honestly, it was never the same, considering the X-Men were the cornerstone this world was built on, and what with Magneto essentially taking Doom's place as prime threat.
AND WE'RE DONE
The moral of this story being "if your son dies, don't write a book"
RIP IN PEPPERONI BEST GRILL

Hank's. In The Ultimates 1 Hank and Jan got estranged because of super domestic violence.
In The Ultimates 2 Cap and Jan started dating and she divorced Hank. Then the turbobitch complained about Cap being too boring and sorted of started an affair up with Hank.
>>93855474
best way to kill wolverine, really.
>>93855724
That's almost poetic, because if there ever was a story written for (You)s, it's Ultimatum.
I finally read Ultimatum. Christ on a stick it sucked ass.
I remember when the Ultimate Universe pre-Ultimatum or at least directly pre-Ultimates 3 was considered seriously incredible. I wonder how and why Marvel let it suddenly go to hell.
So where is ultimate taskmaster?
What a wretched story.
>>93855474
>survived an almost point-blank nuke
>survived getting dismembered
>lazers instakill him
What did Loeb meme by this?

Ohh fuck me. Forgot about all the terrible off panel deaths... I'm about to drink a lot aren't I?

>>93855953
>but...
>>93855958
Mods are asleep, post Trouble
>>93855953
Wait.
The incest shit was in the FIRST issue of U3?
sasu-fuckin-ga Loeb-sama
>>93855953
Every fucking time. Incest isn't a new concept Jan, and the "present-day" isn't any more ok with it than back in '44.
>>93855114
If you zoom in on the first panel, you can see the coloring of Valkyrie's areola.
>>93854981
Ultimate Hawkeye is kind of fun. He seems as confused by everything as I am
>>93854318
What's this all about now????
>>93855996
>run so fucking fast he tears his clothes
>>93855713
People who say certain mediums shouldn't be taken serious are pretentious fags anyway.
>>93855106
The problem other than the deaths being stupid and rushed is that they didn't have that many good characters left. It was all senseless and out of nowhere. Then you get various Hulks, Kid Daredevil, Wolverine Jr., etc.
And then there's the dropped plot lines like what happened with Strange's mysterious visitor and the Jocasta thing.
>>93856021
is that Donald Blake?
>>93855816
OH FUGGG What are we drinking for this time? Definitely getting drunk after Ultimatum
>>93855474
>cyclops doesn't close his eyes
>magneto somehow has advanced armor hacking abilities
This one is the worst honestly because even though the others were shit at least you can see how it happened.
>>93856145
that top panel. that chest, those eyes and lips... unf.
>>93855953
Obligatory reminder that Mark "This is my face when I'm fucking you in the ass" Millar was more tasteful and subtle about incest implications.
>>93856170
at least Blob delivered.
>>93854571
>It gets worse
Fitting.
>>93856124
Oh shit I am drunk. Image posting in a storytime I'm a fag
>>93856259
HOLY SHIT BUB

WHAT HAPPENED THAT IT WENT FROM ACTUAL ZEITGEIST OF THE TIMES TO THIS
SOMEONE TELL ME I'M SO CONFUSED
>>93856288
who cucked who first? magneto or sniktbub?
>>93856305
Loeb's son died
>>93855332
So where there lots of tie-in issues? Because the shit with Hulk smashing strange's house just came out of nowhere
>>93856343
I think that might have been covered in USM
>>93856343
Spider-Man's tie-in.
>>93856323
So they let an obviously, clearly unstable man (if very understandably so for a reason) take the reins of an utterly hot and well-selling and critically-acclaimed imprint.
You're kidding, right?
>>93856370
I wish I was
>>93856373
perfect for incestfaggot threads
>>93856385
.................
I love Marvel. I do. But unlike DC, I never understood THEIR fuck-ups' internal reasonings. And then I see them doing shit like the 90s crash or current SJW Comics or this.
>>93854415
>WHAT THE @#$% IS GOING ON
It's like they knew
>>93856419
Well the Captain America book he did post Loeb Jr. dying was actually good. So I imagine Quesadilla thought it'd be a good idea to get him to continue writing.
HOW FUCKING WRONG WAS HE
>>93856434
Heh, thanks for replying to me as you do this. Like I said way earlier in the thread, I bowed out of collecting (not by choice at the time) this imprint just pre-Ultimates 3 and Ultimatum, so I got Ultimate Marvel when it was genuinely great. So seeing it go to hell so swiftly is at the very least morbidly fascinating. I remember my one wish was more and better Ultimates stuff as they waited for Finch to finish actual Ultimates 1-2 books.
It's weird seeing a Marvel universe where the X-Men, Avengers, and FF are all relatively equal in importance vis-a-vis each other, if with a remnant of the 90s in X-Men being the pusher of universal storylines.
>>93854498
>Ya did it in three didn't think ya had it in ya
This line is actually funny
>>93856487
To be fair, outside of USM, the rest of the Ultimates line wasn't doing that great. UFF and UXM struggled to hold a creative team, Millar and Hinch bowed out after dong Ultimates 2 because they had clearly finished up their original goal of doing a blockbuster movie in comic book form. It makes sense that they would have wanted something to kickstart the line back up to try to get another USM off the ground. Unfortunately, Ultimatum was the worst way to go about it
>>93854746
>i only wanted to 'marry sue'
Just wait, you'll get your 'marker' arc
>>93856553
No. NO.
>>93856561
>>93856571
GOD-FUCKING-DAMNIT
I'm still mad.
>>93856571
Is nobody going to mention how Pyro is just a floating head, shoulders and fingers?
>>93856511
Interesting! I remember the creative team switcharoos but figured from my then-limited information it was because Ultimate Marvel was doing well enough overall that various creators wanted their shot at putting their mark on it, not because of sales or creative issues. This makes Ultimatum in a meta sense make far more sense.
Of course, had they not made everyone in the Ultimates and most X-Men raging dickholes they might've sold better, I had begun to cotton onto those personality issues even just a couple years after. Too bad Marvel didn't recognize that.
Makes me feel like the MCU could be the Ultimate Marvel of our time in both being really good at first, and in this case, still potentially ready to go fucking off the rails.
Also, that Cap face.
>>93856640
I don't know if it was creative issues causing the creative team swaps, or sales, or just writers only wanting to come in for an arc or two, but outside of Bendis and Millar at the start, no one really stuck around
>>93854865
Alrighty boys pack it up, we got to the check point. Back out now
>>93854930
>Emma
>Sunspot
>Cannonball
>Longshot

>>93856170
Well I'll be damned, loeb actually set it up

Everyone secretly loves this book. Or else it wouldn't be spammed so much.
The Chyna syndrome. "I hate Chyna but I miss watching her get hurt"
